Hey everyone,

Just got back from a long day of running around because my husband - who came over on a k-1 - was missing a tdap vaccination. The Knightsbridge doctors told him it was not "age appropriate" to give him the tdap, but it is required in the US. So imagine our surprise when we FINALLY found a civil surgeon willing to verify his I-693 WITHOUT making us shell out money for another physical, and she tells us we need to go get another vaccine. We had to run around and find a Walgreens that was carrying tdap which was another hassle.

Moral of the story: MAKE SURE THEY GIVE YOU YOUR TDAP VACCINE. Even if they say you're too old for it, it's still necessary for the civil surgeon to sign off on your paperwork.

Our paperwork is finally sent out, complete, and the waiting begins. Just wanted to give everyone a friendly heads up.

An adult is never too old for Tdap and it seems strange Knightsbridge marked it wrong. They know that.

On the same diseases- tetanus, diphtheria, pertussis, you could be marked too old for DTP because that's the childhood version, not recommended for adults or teens. The capital letters mean something, so tdap and TDAP aren't actually on form DS-3025

You would need a dosage no longer than 10 years ago. Did you have a date within that time frame?

He got the trap when he was 12months but they were trying to tell him he didn't need another one because it wasn't age appropriate. Because I guess he thought it was only for kids. Yeah. You would think they would know better, but that's why I'm saying just double check. If they try to say you don't need something, insist you get it anyway.

It will be a lot easier typically to get everything done in the UK, even if they tell you that you can get it in the US. What they don't tell you is it will be about 10x more expensive in the US.

Make some rattle if you have to and always get everything done.
