In order to qualify for expedited status, the request must meet expedite criteria (on USCIS website). I then called the number and talked to an officer who took note of my request. Within 5 days I received an email saying the request had been accepted meaning they approved to have my case expedited.  Did not mean they had approved my removal of conditions. I called them back 2 days ago since I had not heard about it and I received an email this morning telling me the green card was in production. 

The key was to be able to talk to an officer and mostly meeting the expedite criteria which include: severe financial loss, emergency, humanitarian... 

Once you petition for the expedited request it is in no way guaranteed to get it though and they really mention it over the phone.

Hey Guys, just a FYI I had a infopass appointment today in Pittsburgh. My Extension letter expires in 30 days (03/21/2017) and my physical GC expired 06/21/2016. I explained i needed a I-551 stamp due to my Driving License expiring in March and also travelling abroad in April and they stamped my passport for a further year no problem. I know there is some confusion wether you can get a stamp 30 days from the letter or the actual physical GC. hope this can help

Thank you for sharing that. It's weird why some states give 1 yr extension on driving license based on the 1 yr extension letter while other states give 1 yr extension driving license based on GC expiry. My driving license was renewed for 1yr based on GC expiry so I am still good for next 3 months.

My I-797C NOA document includes two receipt numbers: 

1) I-751 receipt number

2) CRI89 receipt number

 

Is this common?

What is the difference between these receipt numbers?

Hey guys,


I had an InfoPass appointment today at the NYC field office and it went as follows:

 

I went on time and was given a number and had to wait around 30 minutes for my number to be called. I met with an immigration officer who was serious but pretty courteous. Asked why I was there, and I told her my extension letter is about to expire. She asked for the letter and looked it up then asked for my passport. She stamped it right then and there and told me my case was still pending and that the ROC cases take a long time. She didn't even ask for my green card, so I didn't give it to her.

 

On a side note, I have mentioned before that when you change your address, USCIS would send you a confirmation to the new address but the following notices and correspondences will go to the old address. I have changed my mailing address around two months ago and received a confirmation at the new address, but when I asked her today which address she had on file she said it was the old address. Told her I have updated it a while back, and she said sometimes they don't update the system very often. 

 

I guess after every change of address, we should schedule an InfoPass to confirm it has been changed.
