I did an online inquiry about my case and I received an answer on 11/21 that 'Your case has been assigned to an Officer. On 10/25/2016, the Officer ordered a Request for Evidence be mailed to you at your address of record. The Request for Evidence should arrive within two to four weeks of the order. Therefore, you should be receiving it about now.'

Still haven't received anything and getting very stressed out since the email doesn't mention what kind of evidence they're requesting, and really really worried that why I still haven't received it in my mail :clock:

Has anyone else experienced something similar and what did you do about it? Just wait and see?

When I check my status on USCIS website, it still hasn't changed from 'Case was received', shouldn't it be something else now since I should be receiving the RFE?

But how  you find that you were receiving an rfe

I did an online inquiry about my case and received an email is response that said that I should be expecting a rfe.

By now I've already received it and about to mail out additional paperwork on Monday. Hopefully will receive some good news after that!

We got an RFE on 10/18/2016, mailed in our response on 11/17/2016, with USPS tracking delivery on 11/19.

Still nothing from USCIS, and we will be at the 60 days mark post RFE response next week.

The stressful part is not knowing if it will be approved or sent for interview!  In our case, I think it's because we moved a few times together, and they have no way of knowing if it was us doing it together.  I ended up chatting with an immigration attorney, who advised that I should have been filing the I-865 each time we moved, which I had no idea about!  Apparently when the USC files the I-864 affidavit of support, the I-865 needs to be sent in after each move.  We did file the AR-11 for my spouse each time, thankfully, but I think this contributed.

I'm not sure whether to do the Case Inquiry online or just call  and be on hold for a long time?  Those of you who did the online option, how long did it take to get a response?

I did an online inquiry on 11/07/2016, got the response from USCIS on 11/21/2016 that said  that on 10/25/2016 the Officer ordered a Request for Evidence be mailed to me and that I should be receiving it 2-4 weeks from mailing date. But unfortunately it got lost in mail for whatever reason and I finally received it about a week before Christmas.

So today I'm finally sending out the additional evidence and hopefully I'll finally get approved :)

Good luck to you too!

For online case inquiry, it usually takes them 2 weeks to reply. I filed 2 online inquiries for my case. the First one was sent 10/23 and I got a reply from them 11/7 saying " Our records show that your Form I-751 is currently pending adjudication. We regret that we are unable to provide you with a completion date at this time. We apologize for the delay."

I sent them another inquiry last 12/30 and got a reply from them 1/13 saying " After reviewing our systems, we try too talk to you and called you but unable to reach you. After reviewing your application in our system, we suggest that you make an INFOPASS appointment with your local USCIS Office to discuss your Immigration matter in person with A/E. (www.uscis.gov and click on InfoPass)"

I also received a weird  voicemail message from them saying that they have called me in the past and whoever answered my phone hung up or told them that I'm not home (which I can confirm was a lie) coz I never got a call from them and I do not hung up coz I would usually let it go to my voicemail if I get a call from unlisted numbers, they said that they can't schedule my interview until they speak to me in person and I would have to come into their office in person.

Now I'm trying to schedule an Infopass appointment but everytime I try to schedule one from their site all I get is "

Currently, there are no available appointments. Please check again tomorrow.

This has become so frustrating, I would've expected an RFE to be sent if they needed more information regarding our case and really don't understand why they would lie about having called my number in the past.

Does anyone know the easiest way to secure an Infopass? Can I just walk-in to their office and secure an Infopass from there or should it be done online only which would take forever given that they have no slots availavble all the time?

That is very strange indeed - I haven't read anything on this site about others being called by USCIS.  It's usually a letter, whether it's approval, RFE or NOID.  Is there any chance you had an old phone number on the original paperwork that's no longer yours?  Otherwise, I wonder if they have mixed up information between your case and another.  Dealing with such a large organization, that's always my concern, that paperwork gets lost or mixed up.

Some people on here have successfully walked in when trying to get the I-551 stamp, for example, so you might want to try that.

Let us know what happens - I see our timelines are very similar, so our thoughts are with you!

It was VERY strange and now makes me really worried. I have not changed my phone number and have been using the same one indicated in the I-751 form that was submitted to them.

Still no luck with INFOPASS either so I might try walking in to see if I can get pass their security to get an I-551 stamp. I hope I'll have luck with that.

I just recently accepted a job offer and will be starting next month, now I'm afraid they will deny me the job because the NOA letter is expiring in March, so I really need my passport stamped at least to show them evidence that I'm legally allowed to work while the case is pending.

Really hoping and praying everyone gets their approvals soon.

How long should you wait until making a INFOPASS appointment and getting your passport stamped. My GC expires on March 21st and i am travelling out of the country on April 17th, do they only stamp once your renewal expires.

You have to do it 30 days within expiration date.So you can look for appoitment Feb 21st and on.Also start looking at the Infopass appoitment online every day coz it is very hard to schedule appoitment. The first one you see on Feb21st or after that take it.

I-751 (ROC)
07/30/2015- Sent I-751 package

08/11/2015- Received I-751 notice extending my conditional resident status for one year

09/10/2015- Took Biometrics

03/10/2016- Called USCIS to ask about my case, they said no updates and I am within normal processing time

08/23/2016- Called again to ask, they still said within normal processing time,no updates

10/11/2016- Date my conditional green card expired(the one year extension),called again they said schedule InfoPass

11/6/2016- Went to InfoPass and got I-551 stamp extending my permanent residency for 1 year, was also told my case is now at local office

12/15/2016- Still waiting......................

03/30/2017 Received RFE

I had an INFOPASS appointment recently and I would suggest try booking it at about 5-6 am, that's when they usually have spots available. I was able to get mine scheduled first thing in the morning at 6 am. My NOA doesn't expire until June but I have a similar case when I took a new job and had to show my expired GC and NOA for I-9. They accepted it but of course there was an issue later as they misclassified it as another type of receipt. I was able to explain to HR that my case is different and I had to re-do my I-9 but at least it was accepted. So just fyi, make sure HR correctly classifies your case..Good Luck!

Thanks, what evidence do you have to take to the INFOPASS appointment? Just the green card renewal letter and NOA with Bio metrics stamp?

Also after looking at other discussion boards. Will they stamp your Passport with a I-551 30 Days from your physical GC (expires 06/17/16 so a year if 06/17/17) or the I-751 Renewal letter expiration date (03/21/2017)
