In order to qualify for expedited status, the request must meet expedite criteria (on USCIS website). I then called the number and talked to an officer who took note of my request. Within 5 days I received an email saying the request had been accepted meaning they approved to have my case expedited.  Did not mean they had approved my removal of conditions. I called them back 2 days ago since I had not heard about it and I received an email this morning telling me the green card was in production. 

The key was to be able to talk to an officer and mostly meeting the expedite criteria which include: severe financial loss, emergency, humanitarian... 

Once you petition for the expedited request it is in no way guaranteed to get it though and they really mention it over the phone.

Hello fellow march filers,

 

Hope everyone is doing good and learning -the hard way- that patience is a virtue. 

 

I just flew into JFK yesterday and was talking to the immigration officer and he was asking how I haven't received my new card yet since it's been since march, and I was telling him the whole story about VSC being backed up and how I am thinking about going to get my passport stamped. He pointed something out that I had no idea about, and not sure if you guys knew about it or not- he said that if you get your passport stamped, you'd have to go into the secondary office at the airport to get processed. He also advised that I hold on to the extension letter until it expires then go get the passport stamped because going into the office every time to get processed is a pain and time-consuming. 

 

I just thought I'd share this here since VJ has been of great help to me.

Hey Everyone, So i filed in March 2016 and i am beginning to worry as it is now January 2017 and on the timeline on the USCIS website it states Vermont is currently working on November 2015. I am travelling out of the country in April and need my driving license for work. Are there any options if the year has passed with no decision. Am i able to leave the country?

When does your extension letter expire?  My wife travelled out of the country with her letter and expired card without issue.  She was also able to renew her license on the date the letter expires.

Expires 03/21/2017. When i renewed my license previous for the 1 year extension they stated they need the new card to issue a new license in PA. I am more concerned about leaving and re-entering the country in April.

You may want to considering going to your local office to have your passport stamped.

Just wanted to shine a ray of hope on this post - the USCIS website processing times have been updated to December 14th, 2016. Hopefully we'll get our turn soon enough.
