F1 visa issuance time

Hi

i am from Lahore. my mother is US citizen and she sponsored me under F1 category. i received letter from NVC in July 2015 to follow 6 steps to submit all relevant documents including affidavit of support and all other. i hired attorney and submit all documents to NVC in dec 2015. NVC acknowledged me that they received my documents on 12 Dec 2015 and they will took 30 days to review my documents if any additional document is required from my side they will let me know otherwise schedule my interview overseas. Now approx 2 months passed i haven't heard anything from NVC. please if anyone has any information how long it takes to schedule for interview and how long it will take after visa interview to issue visa.

So it has been about 6 weeks, have your mom call the NVC (as soon as they open is easiest at 7AM EST) and find out the status of your case, lately it has been taking a week for the case complete email to arrive

Also, it takes around 2 months (a full 60 days) between case complete and interview

If your visa is approved at the interview AND you are picking it up in Islamabad, expect it to be available in about a week. If you are going to have it delivered to Lahore, expect it to be available in about 2 weeks (again if you are approved at the interview).

Thanks for your prompt response. the acknowledged email that i received from NVC states that it will took 30 days to review my documents. so would you sugeest me to wait for 60 days before contacting the NVC if they do not reply during this time. Also my mother is in Pakistan and she is not living in US but she is US citizen and my brother in law provides me the affidavit of support and all other documents.

WOAH, wait a minute, your mom is living in Pakistan, and she is who petitioned you?

If this is the case, then you cannot be issued a visa. You are applying on the basis of reuniting your family, there is nothing to unite if your petitioner is living in the same country as you.

She is waiting for my visa approval to travel with me as she is senior citizen and can not travel alone.

how long has she been there? if she is just waiting for your visa, it's one thing to be there for a few weeks

Ok , as I previously suggested, your mom should call the NVC at 7AM EST (which is 5PM in Pakistan) to inquire about your case status, that will be the fastest way to determine what is happening

Ask your attorney to check with NVC, you also can call NVC and ask.

Do not email them, you will not get a timely answer, like I said call the NVC when they open at 5 PM Pakistan time and inquire about your case

You can email them and ask about your case status i have the same scenario and i get the email saying your case has been completed in the reply of my email.
