If you are in First or Business class, you are fine. Otherwise, you will need to wait and see what they say when checking in

why not just put it in a suitcase and check it? Suitcase size luggage is not allowed in the main cabin(as another poster suggested), only carry on size,They are very strict with these rules especially when flying international. Jet Blue flights they even make you check carry on luggage because there is no space in the over head bins. I just traveled Jet Blue to Denver and the only thing I was allowed to take in the main cabin was my purse, I had to check my carry on.

Congrats on completing your journey.

Flew Emirates a few times. They are strict with the one carry on rule. Including weight restrictions, especially flying economy.

If I was going to be sneaky, I would put all the other stuff inside the garment bag holding your wedding dress. A lot of them have pockets and compartments for shoes/jewelry.

Can't edit for some reason. Here's my edit

1 Don't compare EK to American based carriers.

2 Don't get scared if they weigh your carry on at check in

3 Great job reserving closet space !

4 A lot depends on your particular route and how full the plane is. From experience, outbound from HKG and MNL are very strict

I flew from Turkey with my wedding dress on Turkish airlines. Turkey has a better selection of nice wedding dresses for Muslims than the US. The fight attendants hung it up for me. However the hanger broke in mid flight, so bring extras haha.

I was in economy btw.

I quite disagree on the part where you said a person cannot bring a suitcase in the cabin because you can bring it as a carry on AS LONG AS IT MEETS THE SIZE/DIMENSION REQUIREMENTS of the airline. You may be right about jetblue though so OP would need to check and do some research about it. :)

To OP, if you are really worried about this, just check in your dress or better yet ship it. Good luck! :)

When I went to the states to visit after my wedding, I flew back with my dress. I put it in a bag folded but then put it in my luggage. I figured I'd have to get it steamed/pressed anyway once I get to the states to store it so what are a few temporary wrinkles?
