So this is probably a dumb question but I've been searching on forums with no luck. Does the arrival of the NOA2 take longer depending on the country of the fiance? Or will the country be more of a factor afterwards? We sent the application on February 1st - and I'm not sure if I am getting my hopes up that we'll get the second notice any time soon. My fiance is from Sub-Saharan Africa so we're expecting delays as far as the background check is concerned. I guess I was under the impression that between the NOA1 and NOA2 it was processing the application, making sure the documents were completed....not the actual decision-making. Am I totally off-base?

It's not depending on country at this point. But each case is different and there can be different things they have to look at.

There are still people waiting with the same timeline as yours and even way before that so hold on you'll hear something soon.

And yes background check (everybody gets background check but maybe they have to check some more) and probably AP in your case is very normal.

My estimated noa2 approval was over and still dont get any word from them ?

Congrats!!! I hope we get ours too this week!

Thank you and dont worry. I thought it would take weeks once my estimated date passed. 3 days after i checked the app and it said approved. i must have been very lucky. Maybe its the help of the shooting star i saw on last weekend haha. But you will get a reply. Patience is key.

I'll be checking the mail every single day after work and whatever proof they need I will have it printed out and at Fedex the same day. I assume they might wanna see an airplane ticket or something since I was still legally married only until December although I have been with my fiance ever since our separation nearly 3 years ago. Even if I need a statement from my ex that won't be a problem. This visa will happen and no RFE will stop us lol

Exactly this, nobody wants an RFE and it sounds pretty disheartening, but they usually get turned around pretty quick, you'll be approved before you know it!

I was wondering the same. My petition was received on February 3rd but got the text and email notification on February 8th. My fiance is from Zambia so I was wondering if its a country thing or what since I am still waiting and no RFE yet. So many cases right after ours (using case numbers) have been approved or sent RFE's and ours nothing. I was also wondering if its because I am a naturalized citizen. Oh well...we just have to be patient and see what happens.

As far as I'm aware country has no impact on how quick you'll get your NOA2, from what I gather when you send off your I-129F it's put in a box with other petitions, and a USCIS case officer will pick up a box and take it back to their desk and work through that box

Hi Chris! I'm now concerned on how my case would turn out. Sorry to cut in, but I've been following this page ever since. I think we have the same problem. I haven't gotten any response yet after the noa 1, but I'd like to ask does any one of you knows how long should we wait before we file for K1 visa? We got my fiancé'a divorce decree last November?

have you met with in the last 2 years, best if after the divorce? If yes then go ahead and file.

Our NOA1 is also on the 5th of Feb, you should be hearing back very soon as they're going through quite a bit from that date everyday. I once read there's no issue as to when you were divorced because the USCIS knows that in the real world people meet people before divorces are final. Just a matter of having all the evidence of a real relationship is all that's required. Flight receipts, pictures, letters, ect... Good luck and I hope you hear good news soon. RFE's typically come mid day and approved applications typically come in the evenings. That's what I've seen looking at all the cases from Fed 5th.
