I've read in another VJ post that vaccinations are suggested but not required for K-1 visa, at least not until ready to do AOS. Is this a consulate-specific requirement? Can anyone clarify or link me to the information? Thanks in advance.

I am not sure, I am just doing what the doctor tells me to do! And I think it might be better to do it before the AOS since it might be harder to get them all done when you are in the US since there are only specific doctors that do it for the AOS. (Or so I have heard).

Yes I agree, got to follow what the doc orders. I'll have my fiancée do them in her country as well, over there medical care is so much cheaper than in the States. Also, like you say, it's better to get it over now and worry about the other stuff later.

Thank you all (L)(L)(L)

And now that I have selfishly kept all my vibes to myself I will spread them around like crazy!

So I had the first part of my medical today (xray + bloodwork) and then the doctor called and told me I am missing couple of vaccinations so I went to my general practitioner nurse and she gave me 3 vaccinations so now both my arms are covered in bandages! I still need one more vaccination (polio) but they don't have it in Iceland so I am out of luck with that one.

And let's see some MORE NOA2's this evening!!

Snowcone did you use your NOA1 date as the text date or the "Received" date on the app?

Text, my received date was 4th of Feb :)

On the NOA1 letter there was one section about notice of action and the other one received (4th) so I chose the Notice of action date (8th)

Just pray folks....

Lord I thank You for a Blessed day once again, thank You for a roof over my head and food on my table. Thank You for Your Loving Hand of protection over my life and on my loved ones, all the Glory Honor and Praise to You. Thank You Lord for saving us by Your Grace. Thank You that You are mindful of us and we know You have a great plan in store for us.

Lord I want to bow my head before you tonight to just ask for our visa to be approved, I know Father God that our time is not Your time but please let this happen for us. I can never make any journey without You in my life. ? Thank you for never letting go of my hand. Father God, I deserve nothing and this is all Your Will and not mine but I ask this in Your Precious Name JESUS CHRIST ?

The website estimated we'd receive our NOA2 between March 24th and March 26th, which turned out to be very accurate. I would say it really depends though! Our petition was approved on March 25th but I only received a notification on Easter (through the USCIS app, that is).

Hi everyone, new to the forums here. Been following our status through the website and the day has passed from when they received our packet. Feb 5th is when we got the NOA1 and yesterday the CSC estimated date here was Feb 5. I know it's only an estimate but every fear of it taking 5 months is starting to set in lol. How many people here that got their NOA2 got it on the day, give or take, that was listed on the CSC timeline?

On the US department of state website they write the following:

"K visa applicants are encouraged to get the vaccinations required under U.S. immigration law for immigrant visa applicants. Although such vaccinations are not required for K visa issuance, they will be required when adjusting status to that of legal permanent resident following your marriage. Applicants are therefore encouraged to fulfill these vaccination requirements at the time of the medical examination."

Link: https://travel.state.gov/content/visas/en/immigrate/family/fiance-k-1.html#5

I would say to get them before entering the US though! I remember vaccinations being rather expensive in the US (if you don't have health insurance, right?).

I've read in another VJ post that vaccinations are suggested but not required for K-1 visa, at least not until ready to do AOS. Is this a consulate-specific requirement? Can anyone clarify or link me to the information? Thanks in advance.

It's actually beneficial to have them before your medical (or at)

This is because; the Embassy doctor completes a form which states you have the required vaccinations; this same form, if used within its validity period, can be used for the AOS form, which requires you to have these vaccinations.

If you don't have this form, you need to get another embassy doctor to complete the form, (and a second medical as a result) to file AOS.

Which as stated in the US will be more costly, and delay the AOS potentially.

Remember also, the medical is only valid for a certain length of time (I want to say 6 months, but am unsure) so AOS needs to be filled before the original medical expires, or you will also need to redo this.
