We already got a confirmation text from USCIS saying the case was already received. It has the receipt number and it's saying that Official receipt notice (Form1-797) is to follow in mail. Anyone knows what does it mean?

It means your case has been accepted and it should be router to the USCIS California Service Center for processing. Within 7-10 days by standard mail you will receive your official Receipt Notice (Form I-797) with your Receipt Number.. in other words the NOA1

Ok so sent off by lawyer on 28 Jan or so and got NOA1 with date of 4 Feb. Submitted an expedite request due to short deployment coming up in July. Fiancé is Brazilian. Poor thing speaks zero English but luckily I'm almost fluent in Portuguese. Been learning it since we met last July. Thanks to everyone for posting and keeping the info flow going.

So has anyone else collected their docs for after the NOA2 and sent them to their fiancee? I don't know if it would be too soon or not. I have everything collected just not sure if I need a co sponsor or not and what they need to provide. Just want everything to be ready and with him so we are not delayed in our process for when we receive our NOA2.

My fiancé is coming here in the end of March and he'll bring the documents here :) So it's not that much sooner :)

If you need a co sponsor or not depends on your income. They have just raised the poverty guideline a bit.

Oh no they did? Not cool. What does the co sponsor need to provide? The affidavit right? Do they also need all the other stuff that we provide like from the bank, job, w-2's and income taxes?
