hello everyone i have a question,

a friend of mine is doing the k1 process

and she's going to do the DS-160 but the family questions area ask about her parents address and if they live in the US.

Both parents live here in U.S.A. and both are illegal immigrants ( came here w tourist visa ).. will this affect her k1 petition during the interview ? anyone here with similar or same issue and got approved ?

Wow, it's so good to see everybody moving forward. I can still remember how at one point we were all going gaga over our NOA2s haha! Although I'm not always replying in here, I read everything. You all have been amazing! :)

Currently done with packet 3. I have everything ready for the interview. Packet 4 includes the medical and the interview date, I'm so excited for this! Hopefully the interview date won't be too far off and that it goes smoothly. ❤️

Hey everyone, hope all is going well for everyone that is still in the visa process.

I'm not sure if this is a question for this thread but I need help.

My husband came on a K-1 fiance visa that was approved on June 10 and he arrived June 12. We had our wedding July 2nd. The petition expired on August 5th. His 1-94 expires September 9, 2016. We are still putting together the money to file for his adjustment of status. My question is how long do we have before his K-1 filing status is in jeorpady? I mean how long can we wait to send in the paperwork? What is the best time to file without incurring unnecessary fees e.g. like having to redo the medicals?

Thank you in advance for your time and help.

The K-1 is a one-time-use visa, which means it became invalid as soon as he got out of the airport in the US. So the K-1 is already used and has nothing to do with any of the rest of your journey.

You can file for AOS whenever you want, some even wait for years. It's recommended to do it a.s.a.p after the wedding though so he isn't out of status. Nothing will happen to him even if you decide to wait longer, but he obviously won't be able to work or travel outside the US until you file and get the AP/EAD card.

K-1: 12-22-2015 - 09-07-2016

AP: 12-20-2016 - 04-07-2017

EAD: 01-18-2017 - 05-30-2017

AOS: 12-20-2016 - 07-26-2017

ROC: 04-22-2019 - 04-22-2020
Naturalization: 05-01-2020 - 03-16-2021

U.S. passport: 03-30-2021 - 05-08-2021

Just wanted to check in and say hello to everyone! We are still waiting to hear from the embassy to receive our interview. It's so frustrating at times, but I just keep my head up and trying to look forward. Our case expires in 3 weeks so hopefully it won't be much longer before we hear something. Hope everyone else is smooth sailing in their process!!

Hi everyone! Gosh, this process can be so stressful. I am a perfectionist and afraid to make a mistake!

OK, I have read all of the guides and everything else possible. I am still afraid to do something wrong and mess up the whole process. My fiance's paperwork was received by the NVC on July 28, 2016. Do we both have to fill out form G 325a? When do I send in the form I 134?

When do I need to send all of this stuff in? Where to?

I am going to visit him next week in Jamaica (happy dance!!) and can take him whatever he needs.

I guess I just need reassurance. Thank you all so very much.
