Hey everyone,

I am freaking out... I got my K1 visa today and I looked at my passport and on my visa it says my nationality is GRBR, but I am from the Netherlands and live in London. What do I do??? What if I need to send it back and wait for it to come back and I won't get it back before August 4th?

Let me know what you think.

Well you got to get it fixed.

E-mail them what you need to do and if they want it back then do so right away. Luckily London is fast so shouldn't take a month to print a new visa and put in :)

I e-mailed them already, but they are closed in the weekend and on Monday (July 4th) which means that they will only see it Tuesday and then hopefully I will hear back Tuesday or Wednesday if I am lucky. I have a trip planned to the Netherlands to see my parents and to do a final wedding dress fitting, but this may be not be happening :'(

I agree with Georgia16, fix it ASAP. Remember your passport will be looked at several tumes by many agents, both at your departure and arrival point. You don't want to risk it and be held back home or even denied entry into USA for such technicality. Request expedite service if available. Good luck, I think you got time on your side.

I'm just so confused about it. It doesn't make sense that they just don't have it yet the USCIS doesn't either (I called and asked) so I'm a little lost right now. I dont get how people with noa2 of 7th of June have their case number from the nvc but here we are, with nothing.

I've heard that after they leave the USCIS they go to a storage sight, then from there they get delivered to the NVC. I'm not sure if this is true or not, but it would make sense.

Hello Feb filers, March filer here. Since a lot more of you are further into the process, I thought I'd ask here in case anyone knew: how often does NVC Mail out cases to the embassies? Id imagine they don't do it case by case but more likely a few cases at a time? Does anyone know?

Thanks

K1

We got married this past weekend Saturday July 2nd and it was a lovely small but very intimate wedding. We had our ceremony in our Church and a bbq at home. Next year will have a bigger event in the Caribbean islands somewhere.

Wishing everyone all the best in your visa journey and wedding preps and wedding day, etc.

We are on to the next phase. Hubby currently at the License place getting his Ohio State ID...could not get it without the marriage license.

Congrats on the wedding! :) That sounds so nice!

Finally got the e-mail to fly out to pick up my passport (since Canada has a postal strike, they're sending it in weird ways. :( I have to go to a city 7 hours away) and then I'm off to visit my Mum and set up for my own wedding. August 16th!

FYI...not sure if its the same with all States....

Today my husband went to the License place to get his Ohio state ID and this is what they asked for: I-94, Social Security Card, Original K-1 approval notice (1-797), Marriage License, Passport with visa, Birth Certificate, proof of address (we used what the court gave us when we applied for the marriage license otherwise they wanted a utility bill with both our names on it which we did not have yet). Anyway, the licence place only gave him a state ID valid until August 5th because that is when the I-129f petition approval expires (valid from April - August 5, 2016). So basically they go according to the validity of the I-129f approval in issuing the State ID. They want us to file for the greencard and once we get the notice of action then we come back to get an extension on the State ID....imagine. I am so supprised at how things have changed. I am a naturalized citizen and back when I went through my paperwork things were a lot easier but now,,,man its tough. Now we are under pressure to do the next phase as soon as possible because his state ID expires next month and I'm wondering if they would be able to get his drivers' license before we file for the greencard with all these requirements. I need him to be able to drive...urrgh!! It sucks because all of it involves lots of money :(

Just thought I would share in case anyone can benefit from the information.
