*Note on flu shot: Flu shots are required for adults of all ages if your visa exam was between (Oct 1 and March 31). But if the AOS adjudicator picks up your case when it is not flu season, you will be excused. And the reverse is true. The adjudicator picks up your case during flu season, but sees it was NOT flu season when you had your medical exam, you are also excused because the date they go by is the date of your visa exam to determine if you were current on that date. Keep in mind that if you go to a civil surgeon for an I-693, then you are resetting the medical exam date for immunizations and you may have to get second doses of shots or a flu shot to become current on your new immunization date of record.

Not needed if you wait with the medical exam til after March 31 :) and since people in here won't get their NOA2 before end of March and medical in April it is not needed.

Awesome, thank you for answering there! So I'll just have to bring in my immunization list for everything else and it should be good then!

Yes, they doctor at the medical will be the one to see if there is any you need to get.

I also bring our vaccination records so the doctor can see with vaccines we have and if we need any :)

Hello everyone! If all goes according to plan at my moms immigration lawyer meeting next week I'll be a february filer too! :dancing: She just wants to get a bit more info on if the K1 is the right choice before I spend $350 on a visa application since we have a bit of a funny situation seeing as I'm technically illegal in Ireland

Am I totally crazy for hoping that I can be in Texas by Thanksgiving or Christmas? When is everyone else hoping for? :)

Our Story (L)

Welcome. If you are illegal in Ireland you can't have the interview there. Where are you from?

Hoping to be there by June/July.

Ya know, to be honest, my fiancée and I don't "hope" for anything... We've found that it's a lot easier to just "submit it and forget it" because, after tons of reading on here, it seems that people go stir crazy hoping and waiting. The estimated times on here are pretty accurate so there's never any good in hoping for a sooner time or looking every single day for something that statistics say aren't going to happen yet... It really makes life less stressful. Our NOA1 came pretty much as it was supposed to and we expect our NOA2 to do the same (unless there's an RFE, which you can't help regardless). 4-5 months after submission of a solid petition is what you should look for... Other than that dude, have no worries and just float on, ya know what I mean? Patience is truly a virtue, unfortunately not one I have, but it helps to pretend haha.

If your fiance has medical insurance in the USA then it will probably be cheaper to get vaccines in the USA. For example, when I marry my fiance he will be covered under my medical insurance and it will only cost $15 for all the vaccines (that's total not each).

Here is something you must consider when contemplating where you will get your vaccinations. If you do them in your own country then your DS-3025 will show they are complete. Then when you file your AOS you just include the a copy of the DS-3025 for the proof that they were completed. If you wait till you arrive in the States and have them done then you must see a Civil Surgeon who has to transpose all your different vaccinations (those you received in your country and those that you received here in the States) to one document I-693, which they will charge a pretty penny if not more.

http://dennyeyberg.wix.com/filipino-am-visa#!ds-3025-medical/c1oua My website lists some additional concerns and additional documents recommended to send with your AOS medical portion.

Save yourself the headache, get them done in your country before you arrive in the States.

Also, don't forget this: For purposes of the immigration medical examination, the flu season starts on October 1 and ends on March 31 each year. If your immigration medical examination is during this period, you are required to have the seasonal flu vaccine. If you have an immigration medical examination completed between April 1 and September 30, when it is not the flu season for immigration purposes, you are not required to document that you have received the seasonal flu vaccine.

For the Fiance Letter of Intent for both me and my fiancé to fill out. It asks "address of filing location" do we both put the same Dallas TX address? Also for the part where I put name of country where embassy is located and address, what would I put there if I'm from Los Angeles and what would she put down when she's from France? Thank you so much!

If you are speaking of the letter of intent for the 129f here is an example. Very simple. http://dennyeyberg.wix.com/filipino-am-visa#!letter-of-intent/c3ti

She can use this letter also, just substitute her information.

Thanksgiving is doable but you need to get a move on things as it takes 4-6 months depending on the wind. Also, speaking of wind. If the US gets wind of you being "out of status" in Ireland, you could have a long road ahead. You need to get right with Ireland.

It made it to the Dallas lockbox. J Reyes signed for it Thursday. Now I have to wait for the NOA1.

I've heard if you ask the Lord for something, He gives it to you by testing you to see if you have it. And since I never was excited about the idea of Him testing my patience, I never asked Him to give me any... and He never has given me any... So, I hope this isn't going to give me any.

NOA2 4-21-16

Pretty much this - I think I said on an earlier thread that the best piece of advice I ever received about this whole process is to disregard timelines. It'll happen when it happens

I agree! I almost lost my mind just waiting for my packet to be delivered to uscis! Stressed me a lot! Thats why now that it has reached there, i am not stressing and comparing my timeline to others. I am just patiently waiting for my noa1. I am sure we will all get there!

Praying for everyone to have a smooth process!

Right, I was too - I had delays with the USPS and I know you had issues with Customs right? So yeah, I know how you feel. Your NOA1 will come, then you can relax for 6-8 weeks until you NOA2 comes
