So my lawyer now says I must pay a fee for the rfe additional documents ..pathetic we've paid over 2000$ already

The documents may have a fee (depends on what it is) but I know you shouldn't pay for additional 'service'. I have the same case as you. I have just emailed my lawyer and told him our status has changed to an RFE. We are waiting for the hard copy, it has only been mailed today. Hopefully, no additional charges. We also paid $2k+ for the whole thing so far.

Good sign, at least you know that someone has touched your file, i know it will be an easy RFE, just mail it right away so they can be approved!

Thank you so much. I can now sleep a little better. I have been so consumed with this. I can't wait until we are all at the end. Praying for everyone here!

Hey guys! Congratulations to everyone who got news and moving forward. As of now, i am still waiting for my packet 3.

I have a question with regards to affidavit of support. Does the cosponsor have to be living in the same state with my fiance? Do we need to say that we will be living with our cosponsor?

Thank you!

That's a bummer. I know people around here who calls everyday none stop until they get help. If it helps, I have checked and have been keeping an eye on receipt numbers filed the same date as mine and have noticed a pattern. A lot have been approve but the ones that aren't are all getting RFEs one after the other. I feel like they have kept us on hold so they can send it out in a bundle. We are waiting for the hard copy to know for sure where it went wrong. Keep trying to call. I'm sure they can't always be 'unavailable'.

Thanks. I am happy with my RFE. At least it's something :) how are you holding up? :D

I don't have anything planned like you do, so I am just trying to be patient.

We have been friends for so long, and I've waited so long for this, I just have to say to myself...what's a few more weeks? It sucks to keep waiting. There is just nothing I can do but be hopeful every day!

Each night when I see ours wasn't approved, I say to myself. Today wasn't our day. Maybe tomorrow! I am very happy for people when they get approved. I have to say though, I am also a little jealous!

It's okay though. I just wait, look forward to the day, and really try to send the good vibes for others!

No and no.

The sponsor needs to be a lpr or an us citizen and have an income that is above the 125% of the poverty guidelines for his/her household size + the intending immigrant.

What?! I am so confused... My fiance's parents will co-sponsor me but how much does their income need to be? It's just for me. I do not have any kids. Getting a bit nervous by your comment.

You have to include yourself in the household. So if it's them (2), and you (1) then you need to meet the requirements for a household of 3 at or above 125% poverty guidelines.

No, they don't need to live in the same state. And no, you don't need to say you'll be living with them.

Here's the poverty guidelines https://www.uscis.gov/sites/default/files/files/form/i-864p.pdf

Check to see if their income is enough to sponsor you. They will have to count their household size, meaning the sponsor and whoever else is counted on their taxes + you.
