I have my medical on Monday and I'm so entirely nervous/scared. Does anyone know if we're allowed to take an anxiety medicine before the blood test? (Total phobia of needles here, to the point of mini seizures and fainting).

For those waiting for your NOA2 still, keep your thoughts positive. It's really hard to see others getting their approval before yours, the system does suck in this regard. But you'll get it and then the hardest part of not knowing will be over. Good luck!

Just being curious, what they looking for in the blood sample? And what they ask or look for at the medical appointment? Do we need to have a Xray too?

I'm taking some informations for later ^^

And I'm not sure if you can take an anxiety medicine before =S, maybe someone has the answer though ^^ You are probably not the only one in this situation

I'm in Canada, so no idea if they're looking for the same stuff in the bloodwork. :) But my paper said that they were looking for Syphilis. For the medical appointment in Canada, they do a somewhat full medical examination, asking for passport pictures (4 of them), your interview date printed off, your vaccination history, your medical history, and a list of prescriptions. They'll ask for blood work and an x-ray of your chest to be done as well.

As it is, I'll most likely end up asking the doctor there if I'll be allowed to take it for the bloodwork. If he says yes I'll be able to toss some back and it should kick in before I actually need it done! This bit is the one that I wasn't looking forward to at all. The interview seems so easy compared to this!

Different country, still the same thing, they were looking sor Syphilis according to the papers.

That's understandable If you're scared of blood and doctors and the interview usually takes less and you don't get to do the tests\x-ray, but I'm sure you'll make it!

Fiancée has medical on the 31st in Toronto. She's coming to visit mid June for a couple of weeks so we scheduled the interview for 13 July. She'll be living here end of August after her friend's wedding. Almost there!

Georgia, hope all that stuff works out with you. The amount of paperwork and stipulations are so ridiculous sometimes...

Fingers still crossed for all of you that are still waiting on your NOA2!

How would I even have those? I haven't been to a doctor in over 10 years.

My list said that I needed medical records for any surgeries done. I've been in and out of the hospital and have had surgeries, so I needed to get those and get my doctor to sign notes for some prescriptions (like the anxiety medicine, also migraine medicine). If you haven't had any surgeries done and don't take any prescriptions, you should be fine.

After 94 days, we received our NOA2 late last night! Thank the Lord! Thanks for all the helpful guidance - looking forward to the next step!

Congrats! It's good to hear!

To the poster who is going to marry a Filipino living in Saudi Arabia, you can get the NSO (PSA) to ship birth certificates, CENOMAR, or whatever is required by the Saudi embassy.

Good luck to all here.

My fiancee is at the airport now, and she will arrive in about 24 hours. Time is going to be very much devoted to her, but I will try to post a few pictures.

Yes I was glad to see that it would be so easy to get a birth certificate. Turns out that he has his certified copy, and thank goodness our embassy said that will work. Good luck with your fiancée arrival!! Thank you for the response as well. :)
