Yay after 90 days of waiting and going through a lawyer I get a rfe :( like seriously!! Waste

At least you heard something! Better than not knowing if your case has been touched at all. I'm sure it sucks, but keep your head up. :)

I was instructed by the embassy to choose 'I mmigrant'

Thank you!

I'm more pissed at the lawyer cos I paid so much money its pathetic ,does this mean the 5month waiting period now starts all over?

Once you send the RFE in it typically takes 2-4 weeks for your NOA2. (At least that's what I've seen on VJ)

I understand, I would be upset too. Especially having a lawyer handle my case. Anyways, no it does not. The turn around time for an RFE is a lot faster than waiting for the NOA2. Well, depending on how fast it takes to get it to them. It should only take a few weeks after you send and they receive it to get your NOA2.

I know how you feel. I've gone through a lawyer too. However, it's 90 days of NOTHING for me. I hope there's no RFE or I'll go crazy. The good news for you is that you know they are working on your case and it isn't long til your NOA2 is granted.

In our embassy, there was only one fee of $265. That included interview, DS160, and shipment of visa and passport. Fries are extra.

You should check in your country or region specific forum to find out if there are different fees.

Fiance went to interview today.

Only asked 5 questions:

Who are you intending to marry?

When did you first meet?

When did you last see her?

What is her position at work?

What company does she work for?

Is she American?

Are you of the same age?

After these question the IO then said he that is all the questions he had for him and then asked for all the other financial documents and his birth certificate. My fiancé gave him all the documents and also a birth record because in the 70's his country were only issuing birth records. So the officer told him to go to some government office (Registrar office) in town were they would give him a letter that supports the birth record. Apparently this government office knows the kind of letter that the US Embassy needs. After he gets the letter then he should email the embassy and let them know he has the letter and then they will email him back (not sure if it will be with another appointment date or instructions as to how to drop off the letter at the embassy). So we hope that is when they will collect his passport and the letter and proceed with the visa issuance.

So they gave him back his passport back and a piece of paper saying they cannot issue the visa at this time. They checked the box were they said he needs to provide the documents requested in order to proceed. So as we speak, he is at the government offices trying to get the letter and hopefully we can email the embassy today to let them know we have the letter.

So what do you guys think? Do you think we should worry

We only got 4 questions and they were super easy unfortunately we did not get approved:(

In Denmark ALL government papers are online we don't get the send by mail but via an online mailbox so I printer all the papers out with stamps and signatures of the full custody and I have it translated. But the embassy will not accept them unless it is the real signature and not the print out. Called the Danish government and they only have the scanned documents so I'm in some kind of limbo now between those two ...

And the Danish government isn't at any help at all!!

So we are very sad

I do not think there is anything to worry about. Just follow the instructions and all will be well.

Good luck on your Journey!

I always tell my fiance, even if we get an RFE, at least it means someone is working on our file! I'm patiently impatiently waiting to hear something. ;-)

On the app, cases are getting approved and RFE's all around ours, so I am hopeful we at least hear something soon.

We used RapidVisa to help out with ours. Makes it really easy to fill everything out and they give you a packet on exactly how to organize everything.

I know you don't need to use something like that and with everything here, you can do it on your own, but I just wanted the peace of mind. Also, they walk you through every single step and help you with the documents for every single step. Even when it's time to do the Embassy fees, they walk you through that. They also have an office right next to the Embassy in Manila if there are any questions or you need documents or help when it's time to head to the interview.
