I'm needing some help, and I started a thread but didn't get a straight answer. I'm hoping someone here can help me.

Ok so about 2 years ago my fiancé filed for a tourist visa, and completed the DS160. (He was denied the visa due to ties) At that time, the form asked if he has any family in the states at which he replied no. Apparently he did have family in the states. His aunt and uncle lived here, but his family is never in contact with them. He thought they still lived in Canada, and had no idea they were living in the states. They contacted them about a year ago and he found out they had moved from Canada to the states. So now he's filling out the DS-160 and he is going to answer yes to the question of course. will they possibly think he was lying on his last DS-160, or am I stressing over nothing? Also, it asks who is supporting his stay. I am currently in school and only get child support. My dad makes 70,000 a year and is co sponsoring him, so does he put me down, or my dad?

Nobody would consider this lying if he didn't know at the time he filled in the form. If they do ask, his explanation sounds is fine.

And who really knows all of their family members? IE: I only once met one uncle from my father's side of the family that's all I know from that side.

Hi LeeAndrew,

Isn't the question on the DS-160 if you have any immediate family in the US? Uncle and Aunt would not fall under that. When you open the DS-160 it should have a little question mark next to it to explain.

Thank you for your replies! Yes once I logged into the DS-160 and looked at the questions I realized I had nothing to worry about because they were talking immediate family.... Apparently my fiancé doesn't thoroughly read things through haha.
