Congratulations.

I was in a similar situation. NVC received the case on Friday, and I received the case number on Monday around 4:00 Eastern Time. I had called at 1:00 eastern with no case number.

That's good to know. Thank you, I'll wait until around 4 or 5 to call :)

That's awesome! We have a similar timeline for NOA2. I called the USCIS yesterday because of a name correction they didn't make and they said my case hadn't been sent to the NVC yet. Wondering if it could be a mistake. :crying:

I love reading everybody's wedding plans. Gets people's minds off of waiting. :)

I'm done with my medical here. I'm glad it's over. I spent 2 days in the clinic. And I opted to have my immunizations here rather than in the US, so it's one less thing to do for the adjustment of status. Then in a week it's judgement day! :)

Going through everthing is worth it. So everybody waiting for their NOA2s or NVCs, after that it's going to be smooth sailing. :)

It's getting really hard to remain positive. :(

We are in the same boat. It is so hard! Against everyones advice I am going crazy searching USCIS case search app and Visa Journey constantly. Seeing a few cases directly ahead of our number and seeing a few before on the app is making it worst...Grrr!! Keep your head up. Both of us should get our approval very soon!!!

Hi everyone, I was wondering about something. What are your wedding plans omce you got the visa? We are having a hard time deciding how to deal with it. Ideally we would like a wedding with a ceremony and wedding reception, but it's difficult to do that with this visa and especially since it would be best to apply for AOS as soon as possible after entering the US. We are thinking about doing a civil wedding right after I would arrive and then later a bigger party in November. Being a perfectionist and all, this is a though one because I am scared that when my family comes over for the wedding in November, it won't feel the same because officially we would already be married. What are your thoughts on this and what are your plans?

We went through the same process and ultimately decided to do a civil service when he enters here and the big wedding with ceremony and reception on our 1 year anniversary. I have picked the date for next summer which will be August 26th 2017 so I just have to hope he gets here before the end of August so hopefully no more delays. lol

I was having a hard time dealing with having two different wedding dates if we do the civil and then the big one so that's why I went for our 1 year anniversary. Plus money wise it just made sense because money is tight and we still have to deal with AOS so this gives us time to plan and afford everything to make it the way we want it.

We're going to go ahead and have a real wedding. A couple things: first, I quickly learned that I hate wedding planning and do noooot want a big one! Second, I also know that if I got married at the courthouse and then had a wedding later the wedding wouldn't feel real. (I know this works for a lot of people - it would just bum me out personally) Luckily though, we found these people in my home state that specialize in small weddings and pretty much do all the wedding planning for you AND can take bookings with only a few months notice (so long as you don't have your heart set on a Saturday wedding) AND it's a beautiful place. So we're going that route and it's ridiculously perfect for what we want and our situation with the visa. We want to give people who have to travel several months notice though so the way we're dealing with that is trying to get this visa process over and done with as soon as possible, set the wedding date as soon as he has the visa in hand, and then wait a few months before he actually moves here. We're planning on him moving here around September and getting married in October if the rest of the process goes smoothly!

I'v been thinking similarly as to the wedding after the courthouse one not being real enough anymore. But I'v changed my thinking to the courthouse one being the bureaucratic one, the ceremony after will be our spiritual wedding. But for us this will really depend on the timing, we'd really like our wedding day to be the 25th of June, it's a tight call but who knows. Otherwise we will have enough time to get married in whatever way we want.
