When you have your LND you can book your medical straight away and then 5 days later you can book your interview. You don't need to wait, in fact that will slow you getting your visa down by weeks. If I get my LND next week for example, I will fill out my DS-160, book the next available medical appointment, fill out my readiness form and then the following week apply for my interview date.

Oh, okay, I thought we had to wait for the "ready" or the letter to arrive... It's all a bit confusing. Thanks!

@dodge4: This really depends on your embassy. For the UK one it would be fine. For example mine's Amsterdam where you need to wait for their letter before you can.

Hey everyone,

I tried to find this on VisaJourney, but there didn't seem to be one definite answer to this. I am currently filling in my DS-160 and I was in the middle of entering my employement history from the past 5 years, however after the second job I entered, the button to add another is greyed out. What to do now?

Thanks in advance for your help everyone.

People have always taken their medical in advance of getting packet 3 from what I know. But by the time you get down to London etc it probably will be 'ready' and then it takes 5 days for the medical results to reach the right department. So for example if I get my LND this week (God willing) I'd probably book my medical for end of this week, beginning of next. Then I can book my interview the following week. I have seen people book their interview sooner, but I don't know how that'll work. It just said that the embassy MUST have the medical before the interview date. So I'm not sure it matters when you book it, as long as you don't get held up at your medical stage. Your CEAC must say 'Ready' Before you can book the interview.

hopefully, do you have any idea if we could have a RFE? I mean is there a specific time just to calm my anxious lol?

Yes, you can still get an RFE but it can also be an approval so don't get nervous about that part yet :)

I do hope this week is your week with some good news :) (And others waiting for NOA2) :)

Thanks Ree Ren. I'll just take my CV to the interview and a screenshot to show it was greyed out.

Also, you know the question where they ask you about your vaccinations according to the US law. Should I put yes or no? I am pretty sure I have got all the vacinations, but only after this week will have the official document from the medical. Maybe I should wait to fill in the DS-160 after I had my medical.

It probably grayed out because the 2 jobs you entered covered the 5 years of work and therefore you didn't need to put in more.

I put yes on that one for both of us.

Hi Georgia,

That's the problem though, it didn't cover the 5 years... I was still at 2012 with the second one.

Did you already have your medical when you filled in the DS-160?
