Yesterday, I (the petitioner) received letter from NVC informing me that they forwarded my case to the Embassy. Files says "Ready" at Embassy since Tuesday but have not heard from Embassy. I also sent the package (all the documents needed for the interview) to the beneficiary.

We went ahead and completed the DS-160 form and submitted and scheduled interview (the embassy website says they do not schedule nonimmigrant visa, the applicant has to do that). I found only 3 dates left in May so we took the last one in the month in hopes to hear from embassy by next week and then do medicals in time for the interview. If things do not go according to plan, we will reschedule the interview for June - so far June has a lot more available dates.

It is so confusing because embassies do things differently and there is no forum on my country to refer to. So I hope we did the right thing here. oh well...

You you never know what they want. Some don't want you to book the interview until you have heard from them. I could be they haven't open the sloths for June yet as they want May booked first ... You'll have to wait till you hear from them to see if everything is okay.

Just checked CEAC online and its says Case READY, does this mean US Embassy Manila already received my case? What to do next? Pls help anyone... And my other question is what is packet 3? I have not received anything on mail not even the NVC letter. ? Im so confused.

It's different for different countries, mine has been in "ready" since Wednesday, but in my country I have to wait for "administrative processing" to schedule the interview. As far as I understand "ready" usually means your case it at the embassy, but you don't know if they opened it or not. However, in some countries like Ukraine people can schedule the interview with the "ready" status. Some embassies schedule it for you and you can't select the date. I think you should check local forums for your country, you could also call NVC and ask them if they really sent the documents or try and contact the embassy. Hope everything works out for you!

I'm confused a bit as well, but along the way things are clearing up.

Their system was allowing me to pick a date in June for the interview but I decided to pick the last one available in May.

I am just winging it at this point in hope that I am doing the right thing since the embassy phase is confusing for my country (K-1 must not be popular in this country). I figure the worst case scenario will be having to reschedule the interview dates. I also figured that if they did not allow for you to schedule the interview then the system would have refused but all it asked for was the barcode on the Ds-160 form in order for me to schedule the interview. The other thing is, I was not asked to pay the fee after I scheduled the interview so they may have a different process when it comes to where, when and how you pay the fee.

Urrgh I seriously wish the embassy phase was standard (same) for all embassies.

Yeah it is very different. Here you pay first then it ask you if you have gotten the checklist from the embassy (package 3). After you have paid then you are allowed to book the interview :)

I'm sure you will be fine :) When is the date? :D ... Are you ready? :)

Oh okay. My fiance is the one going to the interview so I hope he will be ready by then.

Ahh, this is great! Thanks! Looks like we'll get to schedule our interview ourselves. Does this mean it'll be sooner?? :-D

Yep most people are managing to schedule them for 4 weeks from when they book.

Some of it from here: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/588504-medical-to-interview-date-2016-data-only-title-edited/?p=8058841 but anything new I found out is because I chat to people on the January thread that are in the UK. I started reading the February thread because I got an RFE and a lot of you are waiting for NVC around the same date that I got approved. 4 people I speak to have all just booked their appointments and they got June 1st and June 7th. Then there is another person who I speak to and we are both waiting for our case numbers at NVC right now. I'm hoping to hear soon, but most likely it'll be next week. Apparently the DS-160 takes ages, I'd start getting a digital photo https://travel.state.gov/content/passports/en/passports/photos/photos.html It took me a few hours with my phone and the tool on the official site.

If you need any more advice just let me know. I don't know everything... but I will always try to help as much as I can. We're both in the UK so I'll probably know info that is relevant to you.
