We tried calling a handful of times now but are just put on hold for 10-15min at which point we give up.

Don't give up, you were probably close to getting through! It takes around 20-30 minutes to get through sometimes.

Is the only thing requiring wet signatures the affidavit of support and new letter of intent to marry? I'm sending a package tomorrow and want to include everything he'll need that requires a wet signature (I figure the rest he can print from his email).

I also wanted to get my February filers thoughts on if I should go to the interview with my fiancé...a couple people in the Russian forum have said it's not necessary because Moscow is an easy embassy but when I wrote to the embassy they said they encourage the petitioner to be there. It's a lot of money for the trip (assuming I'd be able to get the time off work) so we'd rather save it but we also don't want to be denied and have to start over. Any thoughts would be appreciated ?

Yes it's the only forms that needs that :)

Well when they write like that I would look at your case and see if your have ANY red flags or it's "easy" ... If there are any red flags I would attend if not then I wouldn't since other's at that consulate has been fine without.

Hope that makes sense.

My thought is do what you can do. My fiancé works a lot and he won't be able to come to my interview. It's understandable and reasonable that you would want to save a bit of money for your family life instead of just waiting in Moscow. I'm nervous too if that matters, but I've read the people who come alone to the interview in Moscow do just fine, bring all the papers, proof, etc.

So quick question for those who are past the NVC stage! We have our number and is in transit. I was just looking at the CEAC website and when the option to pay the fee pops up, it mentions an invoice number. Is there a way to get that invoice number right away? Is it on the paper that the NVC is sending my Fiance? Or was it the number (the WAC one) we had before? Sorry to ask so many questions!

Hi PandySong,

when I called NVC to get my case number, I also got my invoice number on the phone so you may want to give them a call back on Monday and ask for that number :-) It will probably be on one of the letters later on as well but if you want it asap, just call NVC.

:) Alright! I may just wait the week then if I don't actually need to pay the fees (or will it go faster?), I hate pestering people on the phone!

You need to pay the fee with 1 day before you want to schedule your interview so they can have time to process your payment .( you will be asked for the receipt number on one of the steps )
