Anyone here NOA1 Feb22 Filer still waiting for NOA2? I am getting anxious and worried now, most of the cases around me have been processed and approved already, I think they're saving my file for last.

I wish they had a system that updates us on why it's taking this long instead of keeping us stuck in crazy horrifying thoughts. It's not easy to be patient when your case is not moving forward anywhere and you've got everything set on your end. I'm forcing myself to stay positive and I wonder if I really am or if I'm just thinking it. Anyway, I wish us both the best. I will definitely parade my happiness on here once we recieve our NOA2.

TRUTH.

I recently communicated with a very knowledgeable and experienced immigration lawyer and asked him why some 129-F petitions are approved much quicker than others and this is his reply;

"I've visited all 4 service centers many times (back when all 4 processed I-129fs) and I've picked the minds of the officers who adjudicate those petitions. I could write a book on the back-room workings of how your petition moves from the mail room to the adjudicators desk. It is fascinating stuff.

But to keep this short, yes, barring an RFE, the I-129fs do basically move in order they were received, through the mail room, pre-sorting, sorting, data entry and then on the shelf assigned for I-129fs. Eventually when an officer needs more cases, they get a contract worker to go to the I-129f shelf and fill up a bin or two of cases (they use those white-ish cardboard-ish containers they use at the Post Office). Once the bin(s) are brought to the officer, the officer can pick cases from the bin in any order.

I strive to achieve a balance between providing a well documented case and engaging in overkill. Last thing I want is for an officer to hold off picking the "fat file" until the bitter last. But again, I also want to make sure it is thoroughly documented, not simply following the bare bones instructions on the I-129f as one main goal is to get the case through the service center without getting a request for additional evidence.

Right now, I'm going from putting the case in the mail, to approval at a service center in 4 to 5 weeks, to K-1 visa issuance in around 4 months (after the date I put the case in the mail). Of course, every case will be slightly different, and service centers and consulates tend to go through periods of moving quickly, then slowing down, then quicker, then slower. You get the picture.

Good luck with your case."

Thank you for sharing this... what I mostly got out of it is I may have screwed myself by putting too much evidence.. lol.. great.

Ehhh.. On day 81 for us and still waiting ?...

I found this interesting pdf document on Google from USCIS that explains how the processing wait times are calculated on page 4 and the process our applications go through on page 17. It's a few years old but I'm guessing it's still the same. Doesn't change anything but helps to have an idea of what's going on there.

Heres the link:

Wishing all of us still waiting good luck for today!!

Congrats!

Thanks so much, everyone!!! I am so overjoyed!

Best of luck to everyone still waiting on every part of this process. On the case tracker app and Igor's list, I see that there are a LOT of people from February (and some from January) still waiting for NOA2. It's loosely done in chronological order but not always. I'm sure this sounds so cliche at this point but stay positive and be patient...it'll come through for sure. :)

I did have suspicions that sendting 300-500 pages is a bit too much, they simply won't have time to read through all the proof, they are people, not robots, but this is the first time I've heard how it actually works, thanks!

I still want to believe that cases are treated differently. Everyone seems to be for front loading the application....then there are those that believe that the bare minimum will suffice...all these is so confusing!
