Hi VJ,

After 14 months of waiting I received an interview date - Feb 10 2016 (after getting NPIW letter in March 2015). Check my signature for my timeline :)

I know this has been asked many times but it's such a personal thing and a personal experience so I feel I need your opinion. It's about what to bring to the interview.

So here's what I have (original plus copy):

1. Lease 2014-2015 with both our names on it

2. Lease 2015-2016 with both our names on it

3. Joint taxes for 2014 (we filed taxes to 2015 too but won't get anything back on time)

4. Husband's life insurance through work signed in July 2015 (there was one signed in July 2014 also but HR doesn't have it anymore and we don't have a copy for some reason). I'm listed as the beneficiary.

5. Listed as his spouse on our online gas account.(it's paperless)

6. Phone plan showing we're both on his mom's phone plan (both our names listed)

7. Joint account bank statements (July 2014 on)

8. Health insurance cards (we're both covered through his work)

9. Letter from the IRS - proof of health insurance for 2015 for both of us

10. Costco membership cards

11. Multiple cards addressed to both of us - congratulations on the wedding... Also birthday cards, Valentines cards, random cards from him to me and vice versa

12. 50-60 photos (out of thousands) taken at different locations (San Diego, Monterrey, San Francisco, Santa Monica, Santa Barbara, Catalina Island, Chicago, Malibu...) with different people (his family, my family) and from different occasions (Christmas, 2014, Christmas 2015 etc)

13. Plane tickets and hotel receipt from the trip to Chicago

14. Concert tickets with photos of us at those concerts

15. Tickets to other different things with proof of purchase, such as Catalina boat services, San Diego Zoo, San Francisco Bay boat ride, San Francisco dungeon.... la galaxy game, dodgers game...

16. Facebook wedding announcement with over 200 likes and comments

17. Other Facebook screen shots from locations listed in 13, 14 and 15

18. Not sure if I need to print phone records, showing that we exchange dozens of texts every day while he's at work and same for phone calls

19. Also not sure if I need it, but I also have thousands of emails exchanged between the two of us

20. Packages delivered to me to our address (birthday present from my family in Bosnia, my renewed passport was delivered here, packages from friends...)

21. Letters from my doctor sent to this address (not sure if that's important)

22. Screenshot from our wedding website announcing events for our wedding with addresses listed (we have photos to prove these)

23. Health insurance website screenshot showing that I'm covered by his plan

24. Proof that my SSN was sent to this address.

25. Prescription for my medication that I take on a daily basis with our address listed

26. Receipts for our wedding rings (also receipt for both rings being engraved)

27. I-129f NOA 2 copy

28. Marriage certificate

29. All the papers USCIS ever sent to me (NOAs, biometrics, service request response, RFE, letter of continuance, NPIW...)

30. Old and new EAD/AP combo card

31. Old i-94 and new i-94 and complete travel history

32. My birth certificate plus translation

33. Old and new passport (old passport has my parole inside)

34. A letter from the IRS addressed to both of us

I think that's it. Am I forgetting something? Do I need 18 and 19?

Do I need to make copies of wedding cards, event tickets etc, do they want to keep a copy of those?

Cable and electricity are in his name only (paperless). Water/sewer/trash too, as well as car insurance (paperless) (I don't drive yet and don't have a driver's license yet). Is this going to be a problem?

Thanks for reading! :)

Thanks for the reply!

Why it's taking this long? No idea. My online status hasn't changed since January 6 last year even though I received a letter of contiuance (read RFE), sent a response to that and now received an interview letter. It almost feels like they had forgotten all about me and were reminded when my congressman got involved a few months ago lol :)

Another question... they didn't say anything in the interview letter, but I'm wondering if I need a new I-693? The one I sent with my application expired approximately 3 months ago.

Could they still approve even if my medical is not up to date?

If you can afford it, I think it would be better to bring a new to your interview trying to head off any potential RFEs and subsequent delay to your case. You can also take your chances and not waster the money, but having an expired will almost surely result in a RFE.

Good luck!!

Thanks for your responses! I'd get a new medical now, but my interview is in 7 days so I don't think I'd have the results ready... I guess I'll have to go and get an RFE on the spot :o
