Hi! We're gathering the documents needed for the K1 interview and were wondering if any of the documents need to be notarized. In particular, I've seen older posts mentioning the need to have the I-134 Affidavit of Support notarized, but I haven't seen anything mentioning notarization on the consulate's website. Anyone have any insight?

Hey I just saw your post. None of the documents that I sent or my fiance brought with her were notarized. Which made things a lot easier, and I am also glad we did not have to get all of our documents translated. That would have been a pain.

Thanks! I'm SO happy we don't have to have anything translated. It makes things so much easier. We only speak to each other in Portuguese, so all our bona fide relationship proof is in Portuguese.

Follow the instructions. Do you see any reference to document notarization? Let those old notions die.... Additionally, the federal penalties for perjury, which you attest to when the petitioner signs the petition, are much more stringent than a mere signature notarization.
