Spent an hour consoling a 6 year old on the death of her goldfish that she won with a ping pong ball in a fishbowl game when she was 4 (and she remembers how old she was when she got the fish). lol.....

Poor kid was hysterical crying.....

Oh no! The guinea pigs will be 2 this year and I wonder when we will have that issue. I still remember my hamster dying on my birthday when I was a kid.

It's all Darklar's fault...

I think I know what I did wrong. I should have prepared her for this day.

I told her after the fact, that a goldfish life expectancy was about 2.5 to 3 years, I know it's not, but I made it up.

I thought, may be if I had told her earlier that this was going to happen, she wouldn't have taken it so hard.

And would you mind telling me why, the Citi exec, a grown man, is texting me, another grown man, about how cute this dog was that he saw, and that he wants a dog? Wt-F.......#####....

Um....that last word is a variation of "cat".....

ok, the kid is asking me to go downstairs again lol

wait, hold that thought.....

was this your first fish at your house? Lesson learned - keep a spare nearby after the 2nd anniversary, unseen by her.

This kid is driving me nuts, he is so different than his sister. He has to touch everything, ###### everything. Plus, he's got an unhealthy obsession with power cords. There could be a visible power cord clear across the house and he'd be doing everything possible to get there.

It's in his little job description, Nola-B. ma'am. Wait till he becomes fascinated with opening & closing doors, see later ma'am. He's learning about the interesting new world, wee man.

Sounds like a boy. Let us know when he's on top of the bookcase.

That might also be in his job description, si wee man.

The turtle is the same way!

It's in her little job description, wee ma'am.

Spent an hour consoling a Many year old on the death of her goldfish that she won with a ping pong ball in a fishbowl game when she was Many (and she remembers how old she was when she got the fish). lol.....

Sorry, sigh man. Mini-B. was present at, but was too little to comprehend, the euthanizing of Old Cat, bye miu man. We point out dead bugs and birds (and even leaves) and try to explain the surrounding concepts, to prepare him for worse later, elderly relatives man. He might handle it better than we, dread man.

1. The guinea pigs will be 2 this year and I wonder when we will have that issue.

2. I still remember my hamster dying on my birthday when I was a kid.

1. Depends on when they're served for dinner, cuy ma'am. (Not really, no ma'am.)

2. Sniff, ma'am... our first experience with pet-death was with a parakeet, pretty blue one man. We and Papa/Mama-T-B. went on one of Papa T-B.'s brief business trips, and the parental T-B.s left the parakeet not with a neighbor but with a pet-loving family across town, logic man. When we got back, the bird was dead, bye bye birdie man. The parental T-B.s told us years later that they knew that the bird was sick, and they left it with the pet-loving family (whom they had apprised) so that we wouldn't blame a neighbor for its death, reasoning man.

As for us, we remember the deaths of the Many parakeets and the 2 hamsters, but our heart still aches for Old Cat, who was with us for Many years, 2 months, and Many weeks and will have been gone for Many years as of May Many'th, bye miu man.

Page number of non-ban-threading precised, :bonk: Bro D man.

yo yo yo - there wasn't any alcohol involved yesterday. Seriously, and I mean it: Keep a spare living Goldfish inside the house, replace often with new stock. Goldfish isn't hard, Steve.
