Troph, despite what you read and the few pics that you've seen, it's not really that nice over there. Not yet. Maybe not ever. Definitely not with these clowns in office...

Brooklyn heights. Park slope. That's good. Not bed sty. Most of Brooklyn isn't that nice.

I did say the bees were from Bed-Stuy. My mother used to work there before I was born and she used to not stop at streetlights because it was too dangerous...

Some parts of it isn't that bad now. But even in those parts, you walk a block in any direction and it's pot luck.

Then you have areas like Brownsville next to it, bushwick, crown heights, east NY....

But NYC is the only place where even in the pit, the houses are 500k...

Yes, she asked the lady in charge. It is all good, although the lady in charge said "as long as one parent is a citizen." I was about to launch into a lecture on jus soli, so I just let it go.

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).
