We have friends like you and Tiff, Steve. He pays for everything and her money is hers for whatever she wants including her studen loans and vehicle payments.

Our house is different because half of my pay goes into my account for extras and kiddo visits. The other half goes into the joint account for bike payments and towards bills/food/mortgage etc... whatever it goes to. This way we have savings, and I feel like I'm contributing to finances. The house feels mine because I help pay for it not just because my name is on the title.

I wish I was paid more to do more. A team lead spot will likely be opening up at my store as the sr team lead is moving. However Im not sure I want to give up everything extra I have (like vacation whenever) for more money and a lot of extra responsibility.

I don't mind it. It's ok, I got it. No problem....

But, What I see is this. I'm going to die before Tiff does. And she's going to be left with a good size estate.

You see where this is going....

And, in the near future, Gump isn't going to be able to work anymore. And his kids are 7 and 1.

And, some or all of Tiff's siblings is/ are going to immigrate. As well as her folks.

And you see where this is going.....

In regards to your job.

I fully understand what you're saying.

In a former job, I always thought, I'd never want to be a boss.

Even now. I don't want to own my own firm, otherwise I would have done it like back in 2010.

I'm perfectly happy being a small partner here drawing a salary.

I'm telling you there's only 1 sensible person in Tiff's family, her cousin Fat boy.

I think this kid is going to be all right.

He has dropped out of Columbia, but has been an electrician apprentice for 2 years now.

Married the ABC.

Works 7 days.

He says he doesn't wanna be like Gump when he's 45.....

Leave it mostly to your kids? You could find ways to start doing that now. ;)

As it stands, half of it goes to the kids.

But even when I leave stuff to the kids, their mother can get her hands at it, illegally or otherwise.

I don't have any trust funds set up. Because there are several disadvantages.

If there's one thing that I learned in life is, when you have, or others think you have.... a little money, they'll come at you in every which way to get their hands on some of it.

And it doesn't stop at the family level.

Family, friends, government, libs, etc.....

I often say it, if you're 20 and you're a conservative, you're labeled a Nazi or a racist.

If you're 40 and you're a lib, then you're a loser with nothing to lose, or just an in the closet conservative.

That reminds me, I have to go get my Year of the monkis countdown haircut.....
