This has been such a -tastic week that I just can't even. Midterms, papers, babies who don't sleep...

and then yesterday, the Dane finds out he is getting laid off because his boss is owed nearly his yearly salary in unpaid invoices. ####### is wrong with people that they don't pay their bills?

He had promise of a job at a bigger place in the spring, but this is just irritating.

Oh that sucks Nola. At least being laid off means collecting unemployment doesn't it? Hopefully he can find something in the meantime. I remember my father being in court with unpaid invoices sometimes up to 10k per person for his autoshop. People seem to like to have things fixed but not to pay for it.

ouch. Hope things get back on an even keep soon.

I have a friend, a specialist doctor, who moved to another state for a job. Sold their homes here, bought a home there, etc... Big move for the work, which included his wife moving too and finding new employment there. Company stopped paying him his salary after a couple of months. After close to a year of not getting paid, he said screw it and moved back to Minnesota. I just gotta wonder how much that job ended up costing him.

I wouldn't even dream of getting work done I couldn't pay for and even if something came up, I would contact the person I owed to work out a payment plan. I don't get this mentality of skipping on bills at all.
