Okay Nola... my stepdad decided Denmark is better than the USA in everyway. Especially in their pay for college, shorter work weeks, etc type of way. Any rebuttal?

I think it is important to remember that everything is paid for with the second highest tax burden in the world.

Is it great that they pay for college? Sure, but not that many Danes are eligible for college, well really university, because of their educational system. Even adults who decide they might want a career that involves a university education, must go back to high school and it is harder to do than the American GED replacement. Also, your scores from high school completion set the tone for the rest of your life - as in, you can't decide at 30 that you are ready to be serious academically, too little to late.

Is it great that they have longer maternity leaves? Well, what if because the maternity leave is a mandatory 8 months approximately in lowers the birth rate in the native population to an unsustainable level and women feel pressured to have fewer children because they simply can't take that much time off work? An American woman gets more choices whether she feels like she wants to return to the workplace or stay home with her children than a Danish woman would from her employer, society, and her partner.

Just like America in the 1980s, the Danish welfare system encourages single motherhood - a single mother in Denmark not working would make almost as much in take home pay as my husband just for being a single mother. As soon as she moves in with a domestic partner, those payments stop. This created a single mother epidemic in 1980s black communities in America and it does so in Denmark too.

The work week in Denmark is really about the same as how most Americans actually work. I haven't found a noticeable difference.

There is also the issue of taxes on income, on food, and especially on cars that make it very difficult to become upwardly mobile in terms of wealth. It creates a society of people without ambition and without hope for a brighter future.

But all in all, Denmark works because Danes are a mono-culture, even the addition of immigrants throws wrenches in their socialist cogs because they can't figure out what to do with people who want to live off the state or who believe women have a right to be mothers before worker bees. A socialist state can't shoulder the burden for long of too many of those who refuse to produce, but yet take full benefits back. It creates problems and it won't be sustainable for long.

TL;DR Denmark isn't great, but neither is America, and it is personal opinion as to which is better. Personally, I think that unless the migrant issue is solved, they will collapse.
