In my wife's country, they call the very common place habit of being late, Filipino time. The amount of time you're allowed to be late depends on what the appointment is for. This practice is actually so bad if its a party, its rude to actually show up at the stated time, and you should be at least an hour or two late.

that must be a regional thing then. Because mostly they use the banka style everywhere. Never once have I see a boat like that in the Philippines. Google Philippines boats, and click the image tab, and you'll see what I mean.

I saw lotsa these. Back then, The ship captain can hire the locals on behalf of the navy. So a lot of them would try to row themselves to the ship to try to get hired.

my older kid acted like I was killing her when I made her clean up. I think it was because her mother never cleaned anything.

get AVG, Avast or Kaspersky. Heck you can even get freeware versions.
