yeah, my daughter didn't lose any teeth yet.

And the little one has big giant teeth.

btw, this is why you have baby teeth, because there's not enough space in the babies' skulls for all our teeth.

The incisors and first molars come later as adult teeth. Then premolars and canines etc.....

then they fall out, like Tark and Dark......

. So it they turn 4 before Dec 31 then they go to school in September.

The teacher asked the Newfie student to make a sentence with the word "Before"

Little newfie Johnny said, "I before years old"

Some towns/states do it that way. Having held my daughter back, isn't really like having held her back at all because she is normal age for 1st grade here versus being the youngest as she had been before.

Honestly, I think they should do a readiness test, especially if they are going to be expecting kids to be reading at the beginning of kindergarten in some places.

It is my understanding, and it could be wrong, that the teeth thing and a maturity thing is why they don't teach Scandinavian children to read until 1st grade or about 7 years old. I'd say late 6 and 7 was about the time that reading really clicked here.

well may be little Trophie should go back to where she came from.

I had no idea how much red shirting is going on here (US). I think this is total BS then they wonder why kindergarten is turning into grade 1.

The teachers are actually recommending to some parents to keep their kid home another year because the kids ages vary so much in class.

eh - it's a big deal. They strictly enforce it in the public school systems in Texas. The go-around is to enroll your child in private school, finish the 2nd grade, then go into public school.

sheesh - i was in private school this way, then skipped a grade after 4th, going directly to 6th. My son had the same problem, we kept him in private school until he finished the 2nd grade.

I say go private.
