checked on Philippine Website regarding changing name on my Wife's Philippino Passport. Sending in our ROC packet first week of March, will take a year or longer for either the 10 green card or the Naturilized U.S. Citizenship for my wife, whichever comes first.

Dont know if I comprehend what it says on the website, but we want to change my wife's name on her Filippino Passport to her marriage name. From what I understand she can do this, but, something about if she is applying for citizenship or a Resident card in a foreign country, she possibly can not have her name changed on her passport. If not, then I guess we will wait till she becomes a U.S. citizen.

Anyone have any concrete information on this. I live in Washington State and according to the Embassy Website the nearest Consulate is in San Francisco, CA. But the "application for amendment of passport" says If Applicant is unable to appy in person, this form shall be notarized.

So, I am assuming if she can change her name to my name on her filippino passport, as long as the application form is notarized, this then does not have to be done in person.

Maybe some Filippino VJer's can give me some advice on this

Any help or suggestions, please.

Thank you

Why a year or longer for ROC? My wife had her 10 green card in a few months.

Changing your wife's name on her passport is fairly straight forward. Did you complete ROM (report of marriage) at the Philippine consulate representing your state you were married in? If not, you need to do that, then renewing the passport in her married name is very easy. You don't amend the passport.. you RENEW the passport in the married name. All passport applications must be done in person, either at the consulate or during an outreach event in your state.
