My hubby and I are submitting his I-751 next weekend. While we are awaiting this process can be fly out of the country? His sister has a wedding in the UK in March. Sorry to ask but couldn't find an answer on the site

Yes. As long as his green card and passport are both unexpired. :)

Make sure you take the I-797 notice of action/receipt of I-751 if the green card is expired when you travel as the NOA will specifically state a one year extension of conditional permanence residency and travel/employment is authorised.

I recently spent a week in St Maarten and the NOA was required with my expired green card at customs when re-entering USA but all in all no problems.

Yep, I would also suggested carrying a copy of the NOA1 he will receive. It'll say something along the lines of "your alien card is extended one year...".

Also, he should not have any trouble with the UK but some countries, for example Costa Rica, do not always accept the extension letters. It can be a terrible surprise to land in another country and be immediately sent off on another flight, depending on what nationality is printed on your passport. But again, I have hear no bad stories out of the UK. :)

Theres also biometrics. Its typically 3-5 wks after you submit. This is not something you can miss. You can try to reschedule or do an early walk in if it conflicts with your travel plans but its not guaranteed. Otherwise ROC processing is moving kind of slow when you look at history. You should join the ROC thread for your filing month so you can track others at your service center. Also look at the months before thread. Have someone able to check your mail for RFEs if you leave.
