I just received a text from USCIS that my case status has been updated. Lo and behold it's RFE for I-485. so bummed out right now

Seems like a few of us got one about a week after biometrics.

I have not received the hard copy yet, so I don't know if they're asking for the 2015 taxes. If they are, then you would think that most everyone is going to get a RFE

Sometimes you can call USCIS and inquire what it is so you can have it prepared before the hard copy comes. :$

I still don't understand how they can give out RFE's for 2015 taxes. Most of us wouldn't have been able to send them out even if we did file our taxes the very moment we were able to. So obnoxious.

Well to those with RFE's, please let us know why they sent you an RFE whenever you get your hardcopy so that we may be better prepared! I'm sure if you submit it quickly, everything will be fine.

Sorry to hear... but good thing about the rfe is that they actually started working on your case. mine hasn't been touched since 12th Feb, which was one week after our priority date.

The notice date for the biometric was 20th Feb.

Does an RFE on i-485 have any influence on EAD?

My wife filed her tax about 2 weeks after we sent our package so hope no RFE.

My wife filed her tax about 2 weeks after we sent our package so hope no RFE.

From what I saw in people's timelines it does so if the RFE is not sent the EAD/AP will be on hold till the RFE is recieved

Yay!!! Did my walk-in successfully this morning at Seattle; was in and out in like 10 minutes. PHEW. Good thing I waited too, I wasn't expecting them to roll your fingers around so much! Wouldn't have worked with my chopped finger as it was last week.

Hoping we don't get an RFE either... we also did husband's taxes only like two weeks ago.

Well, I just got the RFE letter and it said I had left something blank on the form. I verified and it's true, so I'm assuming requesting 2015 taxes is not going to be an issue.

I'm so happy it was something so easy and small.

Checked I-485 case status this morning and it changed to "Notice was returned to USCIS because the post office could not deliver it." It says "This could have a serious effect on your case." I immediately called USCIS, but they were unable to do anything since my last service request was less than 30 days ago (when they failed to inform my husband of his biometrics appointment, so not our fault). I have no idea what could have possibly been sent out, we were only expecting the 2nd biometrics letter which we got in the mail already. The USCIS representative I spoke to can't see what notice was sent, but he thinks they accidentally sent out another biometrics letter. I don't know how that failed to be delivered considering we successfully received all our NOAs and the 2nd biometrics letter at the same address. Is it possible to receive another RFE? I don't know. I am so frustrated with this process.

Hi guys,

I've been following this thread from the beginning but I'm getting a little worried now, I've filed my I-485 and I-765 concurrently and received a NOA1 for all of them but I only received my biometrics appointment for the I-765. Does anyone else have that too? I also can't lookup the status of the I485 only and it's saying there's a validation error and when I called the USCIS they were like call us back when it's been a month..
