So, I now understand why the Elizabeth, NJ location doesn't do walk in's.

I got there at 11:35 (25 mins before my "appt"). By 11:45 I had checked in with the receptionist, to find out I had almost 50 people in front of me. Finally left just after 1. Actual biometrics were a breeze, wait sucked. Funniest bit is the gentleman taking my fingerprints told me they had a light load today! Said they see around 800 people on a normal day and only had about 450 scheduled for today! They are also SUPER serious about the no cell phone rule and kicked out a couple of people today for violating it. So in case you haven't heard it enough, make sure your phone is off the entire time.

Good luck to everyone doing their bio's (and everyone going through this AOS process in general). May your wait be far less painful lol.

So I've been perusing the forums but haven't found anything too insightful. Do any of you know what to expect post Bio's? I understand that USCIS doesn't give you any updates leading up to the approval, so do we essentially keep checking our case status on the website until it reads "approved"+ "card produced"? Are those the only two updates to expect? I keep hearing about people saying their case hasn't been "touched" since so and so date. How are they finding this out?

Cheers

When you make a USCIS account and all your receipt numbers are at the bottom of the page there is a columns that says updated when that date changes that is when your case has been touched :)! Mine hasn't changed ... I'm also still waiting for my Bio letter got my hard copy NOAs on March 4th.

As far as I know from other vjers, after the biometrics is done, you wait to get your EAD/AP approved, I've heard those two are approved within 2 or 3 months. After that step is done you wait for the interview to get your greencard aproved or denied. Some people get their greencard approved without having an interview. Others do have to go to the interview. In my case since we waited too long to file for AOS I will get interviewed for sure, they will probably want to know the reason why we waited so long and all that stuff.

Do you mean you create an ELIS account? Like here: https://www.us-immigration.com/blog/how-to-create-a-uscis-electronic-immigration-system-elis-account

We never did this, would it be helpful to do it now to check statuses?

No not ELIS I mean a USCIS account it allows you to add all your receipt numbers and every time there is an update it will text or email you and it will show you when it's been touched. I do not know what ELIS is.
