I was able to do a walk-in today for my biometrics! The security guard didn't even ask for an explanation.

A day after receiving my appt. in the mail.

It was worth the 2 hour drive :dancing:

I recommend if you don't hear anything in another 3 bus days then call

I will, thanks! Like I said, I'm not worried except if I get the notice like two days before the scheduled appointment, or worse, after the appointment haha.

Lo and behold, appointment letter was in the mail. Scheduled for March 9 and after scrolling through multiple posts, it looks like Elizabeth, NJ does not allow walk in's :(.

Question - I see some of you are doing walk-in Biometrics. What is the advantage in doing this? Does it really speed up the entire process? My wife should be getting her appointment letter early this week and just wondering if we should do like others and try to do a walk-in.

From what I gathered on the forum, it doesn't speed up things, but it lets you go whenever you choose instead of having to be there on a certain day.

Think of it this way.

USCIS can't and won't approve anything until the FBI sends them your records, which is why we do biometrics.

So the faster the FBI can get your prints, the faster USCIS will get them, and therefore faster you can get your documents.

When my parents walked in to their biometrics last year , they received approval of their EAD within 3 weeks.
