So according to the latest processing time(Feb. 19) that USCIS just updated. Our case is officially out of normal processing time. I'm kind of giving up contacting different departments for help. USCIS will just reply the similar useless information to us.

Have you reached out to your Congressman?

I reached out to my Senator a month ago and they made an inquiry. USCIS told them there's no updates to provide since my case is pending background check. Our Congressmen told us to contact them if we haven't heard anything yet by the New Year. I'm not sure if that would make any differences or not. I understand the importance of background check but pending for one year, really?

BTW Happy New Year to everyone here!

Hmm I see. Such a frustrating situation. I was asking because we reached out to our Congressman and a week later we got an interview notice, but then we got a cancellation notice a week later. I called the Congressman's office again, and he said there was not much we could do but wait, but to let him know if we were outside of normal processing times and they would be able to help more. Idk it can't hurt to try. Good luck! :)

Thanks for your input on this:) I will try to reach out to our Congressman after New Year then. I'm sorry to hear about the cancellation of your interview. I hope that indicates your case is already finished Background check and is just waiting for your local office to schedule your interview.

came across this article on understanding the processing times of uscis. Hopefully we all can find something useful in this, it kinda lowered my anxiety but still frustrated. Keep reading: https://www.americanimmigrationcouncil.org/research/uscis-data-application-and-petition-processing-times

Hey, our interview has been scheduled this morning. We reached out to Ombudsman in early November and they got back to us yesterday to ask us to sign some consent form so they can work on our case. We sent it back yesterday afternoon and our interview was scheduled this morning. Good luck to everyone!

Thepostagestamp- which part of NY are you from? I filed March 9 and no interview notice, sent in one e-inquiry in Oct, did an infopass yesterday in Manhattan and wrote to congressman in December- with all the same responses: it is awaiting interview. It's going to be 10 months on Monday. Base on processing  times, if they actually moved consistently at 4 weeks, they have been working on early March now. Please update me if you have any news. I am in another forum and a person who went to an interview recently mentioned that there might be a shortage of officers, because some resigned. I dont know how accurate but if it is, it might  the reason for delays. People from long island, and eastern queens such as jamaica i have seen trends that they are getting interviews but i havent seen anyone particular from like western queens- closer to manhattan areas have gotten interview dates.

newyorkaos - I filed on February 16th last year. I'm in eastern long island and my local office is in holtsvile. I received an interview notice in August and it was canceled. I then received an new interview notice in November and it was canceled a few days later as well. I'm really not sure what to do. I think I may have to file for a new EAD/AP at the rate this is going at.

I think you should go ahead and renew it asap. You know how it takes some time to get those eads. I would renew it now regardless if you get the interview soon or not.

I just spoke with customer service again. The Long Island Field office is current processing timeline is January 16th, 2016 - and that I am well within the current time frame. My main issue is that I had an interview scheduled 4 months ago that was canceled and then another one for 2 months ago that was also canceled.

How many February filers have had interviews canceled? I find it so odd to have had the interview scheduled and then canceled twice!!

I think there is another one member in this forum who had an interview that was cancelled, a Feb filer too.

The customer service doesnt know how to interpret those processing times. That January 16, 2016 was AS OF October 31. Basically there is a 45 days delay in their posting. As of right now, they probably processing Feb- March already, depending on the caseload.

a link to my previous post on how to look at it. https://www.americanimmigrationcouncil.org/research/uscis-data-application-and-petition-processing-times
