My inquiry actually changed to assigned. I had problems loading the page so I didn't see the update. Do they send the inquiry response by mail or email?

If its your first enquiry the response is usually sent out by normal mail. Other enquiries made after the first are usually sent by email.

For people that have put in service requests, my response came by email 11 days after I made it, and well after the EAD got approved apparently separately from the request. We never got a letter about it. In the email, it said to call them if we didn't receive the card in 30 days, which was today. I called USCIS this afternoon and requested to speak with a Tier 2 officer. They transferred me and I was supposed to get a callback after 45 minutes...but of course, nothing. So frustrating.

I called the service center again. They said that USCIS now allowes itself to take 60 days to produce a card after it has been approved. Ridiculous.

This is exactly what is going on with us. On one hand I'm glad I'm not the only one but on the other I'm furious that I'm not the only one and so many people are being put through this.

The same, EAD/AP approved on May 5th and I have "card sent to production status", called to USCIS and asked to get connected with Tier 2 agent. no success, requested call back but as you may guess, nobody called me back. This is so unbelievably frustrating and unprofessional from USCIS side. I see people with later approval dates getting the card....

I had put in 2 previous requests as I had tried to expedite my EAD but I think I just slowed it down to be honest. On my third service request I didn't receive the email that was supposedly sent so I called and spoke to tier 2, they told me I had been approved two days prior. All in I think it took 108 days for my approval.

Update: tier 2 agent called me back. Spoke to a very nice lady! Put a service request with her, she said that the reply will be by June 6th.

I finally got a call back yesterday after nearly an hour and a half (twice as long as they said it would take). The officer was nice enough but not particularly helpful. She said the card was approved May 2 but has not yet been sent to production, and gave no reason for the delay. She said sometimes there are issues with people's photos or fingerprints from the biometrics and they need to ask them for new photos before they can print the card, but that there was no indication that was the case for us. (Also, that is NOT an excuse given the dozen or so photos and multiple sets of fingerprints they already have for each case between the various AOS and K1 in-country requirements. Seriously, what the heck.) She also said the 30 day period refers to the date of the response to the service request, not to the date of EAD approval, so I need to call back on June 21 and put in another service request if we still don't have the card by then.

So yeah. More unhelpful excuses and arbitrary dates thrown at us. This call to USCIS has now become a dreaded weekly ritual.

He was not helpful and keep switching between Spanish and English. Kept saying all petitions were being processed and depended on the I-485.

Really? They don't have anything better to say than that? Is there even a point in calling. It's so frustrating dealing with them. Did they tell you anything about the EAD taking so long?

Hi Everyone,

I am officially confused about what is going on, so I am asking for help.

I filed i-485 and EAD on february 5th. My EAD status says that on May 2nd they accepted my case and it was ordered for production, but I am yet to receive anything in the mail. I called USCIS today and they said to wait an other 30 days :cry:

In the meantime, my i-485 status changed to the following "On May 27, 2016, we certified the approval of your Form I-485, APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR TO ADJUST STATUS, Receipt Number MSCxxxx, and sent it to the appropriate appellate office. That office will send you a final decision" When I asked USCIS what this meant they couldn't really explain. Based on other forums, this should be a good thing, but I just don't know anymore Anybody in the same shoes and willing to share his or her experience? Would be very appreciated!!!
