I wouldnt unstaple it. I will just send it back 'as is'with the green letter n then submit a new check or MO.

I would also make a copy of the rejection letter and attach an explanation letter that the wrong amount was sent initially and you are just resubmitting the same paperwork with the correct money order/check.

Hey everyone I need some advd

My AOS Application was returned today do to wrong amount for the AOS and I am curious since all my other information is correct do I still have to redo it since the dates of the signings is back in the end of Jan and do I send back the rejection letters with the green letter I received

Please help

Some body posted awhile ago with same issue they had the wrong amount and Im almost certain they recent the same packet with the right amount.. When i got an RFE for K1 I had to include a piece of paper because it said so. But if the paperwork you got doesn't say you need to send it then maybe don't worry about it..

Did you figure out what was wrong with your amount didn't you say you sent 1070? I hope it didn't randomly change on us ...

I called and they said they made the error and to return it back and they will fix it, my god they are annoying

From what the could told me on the phone it could have been how my husband wrote they cheque as in they could not read it write but that is just a guess she is saying, I really hope this doesn't happen to everyone else , it's like USCIS is always making up things to make this super hard for me

So sorry this delay happened to you! but the silver lining at least as you said is your package didn't get lost and you know what's going on so there's no more wondering (even if the reason was absolutely ridiculous!). Things like this are the reason I just shake my head at anyone who says that immigrants get to "just come here" and don't work for it.

In the AOS thread, you stated that your husband wrote a check for $1071 instead of the $1070. So they didnt make any mistake. They were right in returning your packet. Your husband made the mistake by sending the wrong amount.

I thought it was 1071 when I read it but my husband said it doesn't say 1071 it says 1070. His writing sucks

Thank you to you both for caring, idk why they stated the amount was incorrect but then I thought at first as I thought it said 1071 at first glance but my husband said it says 1070 , idk why he has bad writing so we just decided to get new cheques that says $985 and $85 that and I wrote it this time and he will sign it that way no more mistakes will happen
