Hi guys,

I've been posting in the March filers thread because I sent my AOS/EAD/AP application on Feb 29th. However, my EAD/AP still hasn't been approved and my case status has not changed from "case received" on the tracker. Today is now 70 days so I called USCIS and talked to a rep but, they just told me my case has been received and to call back after 75 days.

It seems silly to make me wait 5 days when they could start a service request now. I thought they would have better information for me than the tracker but they just told me the same info as the tracker.

Is there anyone still waiting this long for EAD/AP approval? The waiting is driving me crazy.

Congratulations MASH it seems like you also waited a long time for EAD/AP!!

I'm on day 98 and still not heard anything on EAD. When I called to enquire they told me the 90 day cycle restarts after they receive a reply to an RFIE. I've made an info pass for Monday since I know this hasn't been the case for anyone else.

I'm also having to have surgery tomorrow so I was hoping everything would be in place before tomorrow. Hopefully the wait won't be much longer.

I'm so sorry you've had to wait so long for your EAD, I know just how frustrating talking to those guys can be. It seems like all the ever tell us to do is wait longer instead trying to fix he problem.

I hope your surgery is not serious and you have a speedy recovery. Try to relax as much as possible and keep us posted on how the info pass goes or if you have any other updates. I'll be sure to keep you in the loop if anything changes for me.

Best wishes and a speedy post surgery recovery!

Doh!! If it really is the case the 90 days starts from scratch after they receive a response to a RFE then I won't be seeing any action on mine until the end of July!

I guess some people have been fortunate with only small delays in their timelines. I guess I best be prepared for the worst!

Thank you so much. Its not too serious and I should only be off my feet for a few days. I won't go into much detail but I would like to warn anyone against getting the Mirena birth control. It is because of this that I need surgery and can now no longer have children. I have the most supportive husband ever and I'm thankful for that. I just wish I had the EAD sorted before this. It would have been one less stress.

I think this is a personal reaction with your body and not something people should just generally avoid. I have several friends on the Mirena and it's fine--I'm sorry this happened to you, though. What exactly went wrong? You can PM me if you want.

If only you can sue that horrible birth control company that did this to you

I understand a lot of people have the mirena without issues as I did for the last 10 years. When I went to get it renewed again the doctor discovered It has perforated my uterine wall and become embedded. I know this seems unusual but after doing a little research it has happened to more than a few.

Most people have no issues but I just wanted to put it out there to be careful when choosing birth control and be sure its the right choice for you.

I was offered Mirena recently at a doctor's appointment but decided to go with the pill instead . However, I had been thinking about getting it somewhere down the line. You experience has definitely changed my mind.

Thanks for sharing and warning other women. I'm glad you have a strong support system and a caring husband by your side. Please don't give up anything can happen. One of my best friend's sisters was told she could not have kids but ended up having a set of beautiful and healthy twins without even trying.

We hadn't made a plan to have a child yet if ever but when the choice is taken away its unfair. I'll keep you in my thoughts. I hope your dreams of having a child will happen with ease.

Thank you for the kind words. I hadn't planned on going into detail but I guess its better for people to know. In order for me to have no further complications and pain in the future I was advised that sterilization is my best bet. My husband and I decided that my health is more important than a 'What if' so we are taking the doctors advice.

I know this doesn't happen to most people but the complications of mirena are not widely known.

Yes, you can still submit I765 and/or I130 after you submitted your I485/I130. I just submitted my I765/130 two weeks ago. Remember to attach a copy of I485 with you so that USCIS would waive the fee for you. I don't think you need to do a fingerprints again. As far as explanation goes, you don't need one since you are applying it through Adjustment of Status.

Thank you so much, I'll be submitting it asap.

As others have said, you can file AP after AOS without any fee. Please read the form instructions. It is written clearly on there...your pending AOS is reason enough to leave the country, and you don't need to provide any explanation.

Thank you for the info, maybe I misunderstood that part on the instructions! I'll be sending it this week! ;)
