So I just got my EAD + AP combo card today! Total surprise. I got the I-797 physical approval notice yesterday (although the notice date on the I-797 was May 2nd) — which is the only notification I got for my case since biometrics appointment — and then a text and email notification that the card was was delivered to me. Bizarre.

Have hope everyone!!!! One way or another, we will all end up having actual green cards.

Not sure if it takes any longer but mine are being dealt with from there. I expect the interview to be local but have no idea what the process is as I had a RFE for the I-485 which I had to respond to at the MSC location.

I assume they will do all the checks there and have me interviewed locally, or does the local office also look through the package again once it is transferred?

Don't really know how the process works if I'm honest... Just fill out lots of forms.... Wait a lot.... Then do as USCIS says!!

Wish they had a flowchart that explains all of this for the various routes in obtaining a GC. It's through other websites that you get an indication of timescales as USCIS is limited in telling you the details!

All paperwork comes from the national benefit centre then gets transferred to your local office. MSC doesn't actually work on your case per say they are kinda like the NVC. Where they give you a number for your case and check it for anything that's missing then transfer it to your local office or one that isn't to busy to handle the rest of the process

Hold onto your hat its going to be a bumpy ride!!

but don't worry you'll get through it :luv:

Does this mean we can't raise the over 90 days request now?

Congratulations! Did you get two separate documents? I also got a I-797 Approval Notice dated May 2nd today, but just for the AP. Now it's got me all worried about the EAD. I'm hoping it's just a few days behind in the mail or something.

I was having the same log-in issue with the online USCIS site that others mentioned. And I've gotten no online updates since our NOA1 on February 29. It's all still showing up as last touched on February 29.

I received the same thing. Only a 797 approval notice for AP. Nothing for EAD. This has happened to a few people apparently. My notice date was 4/28. Haven't received any card yet though.

Arrived on P1 Visa - 2012

Married USC - 1/20/16

Filed I-485/130/131/765 - 2/16/16

NOA1 - 2/19/16

Biometrics Appt - 3/17/16 (Successful Walk-in 3/7/16)

RFE - 3/18/16

Service request for EAD due to job offer - 4/28/16

AP - Approval notice 4/28/16

6/20 - EAD/AP card received (finally)

8/15 - interview scheduled for 9/23

8/22 - interview canceled

11/2 - interview rescheduled for 12/7

11/14 - interview canceled (AGAIN!!!!)

Hey guys!

I just found this thread and I'm glad I did!

I've gone through this whole process back in 2012, I became a USC last year and this year

I am petitioning for my parents. The timeline is in my signature below.

I was just wondering, are parents processes dealt the same way as marriages, or does it usually take

longer?

My parents were offered two tickets to Portugal for August and I'm afraid they won't make it since Newark's local office is so backlogged and processing cases from April 8, 2015!!!

I've noticed though that most local offices processing times shown on USCIS.gov must be way off, as many people

here are getting approved in less than 4 months when in reality their local offices appear to be very backlogged as well,

which is awesome, gives me some hope!! :)

My AOS:

Jul. 17, 2012: Sent package

Aug. 28, 2012: Did Biometrics

Oct. 03, 2012: Received interview appt. for Nov. 7, 2012

Oct. 04, 2012: EAD in production notification received!!

Oct. 13, 2012: Received EAD in the mail!

Nov. 07, 2012: Interview day!! Was approved on the spot!!! 5 minutes! :)

Nov. 17, 2012: Received Green Card!!!! :D

My ROC:

08/25/14: Sent package

Yeah the biometrics letter lets you know your local office us now working in your case. If it gets transferred to a different office completely you'll get a notice but that's only happened once on here I'm pretty sure.

I don't think they will notify you when your case is being transferred to your local office. I had my biometric done in Feb 17. I called them two weeks ago and they told me my case was still pending at NBC center at that time.
