Today was a very hard day for me

I know I am trying hard to be positive about the EAD/AP an I still am but I just wish it would just come cause as of now I need to get out my husbands family home as the mother is now becoming more controlling and tells me I have to do the cooking and cleaning for her now since I am living in her home rent free and take care of her mother while she is out doing her thing ..so much stress and that I went to the doctors this morning I didn't want to say anything to my family or anyone I was pregnant till I was more months into the pregnancy but seeing the doctor they said there is no longer a heartbeat and advised me I have a low chance of having a baby go into full term and that alone shattered me to pieces as since I was 5 my dream was to be a mom and the sec I come back to the home his mother is telling me to do all this or I have to go get a cash paying job and give her rent or she will kick me n my husband out

Idk how anyone can be this heartless, I knew she didn't like me at first cause of my background but I thought after 8 years of getting to know me she would change , I'm honestly in tears and I'm hoping me n my husband can move out soon but without my EAD we won't have enough to survive on our own as the money he makes is mainly enough for our groceries and his bills

I'm sorry to write all of this but I didn't know where else to type and I need advice on what to do as I don't want to worry my family back home

Thank you so much , I'll try to be even more positive today but cause what I have been hearing about my miscarriage an being used by his mother , my husband is defending me which I am happy but most of the time he says it's not that bad, reason why he says that cause he is at work for 12 hrs and doesn't see when his mother is being abusive to me by yelling at me to do the house chores while she is sitting down watching tv or going out till night so when he comes home he barely sees her, my husband does believe but since he is not seeing it in front of him he won't fully comprehend it and that I guess it's his mom so idk what to do

THANK YOU EVERYONE!!!

Now that my eyes are dried up from tears and my husband got home from work I have a level head now an I will be doing what you guys advices me ASAP

I am so happy there are people here that are so caring, I'll let all you know how it all goes

May god bless all of you <3

I'm so sorry you're in this situation, MASH. I definitely recommend expediting the EAD like the other VJ'ers said, and if you need to talk, PM me.

Hey guys...just stepped out of the SS office. Brought along with me everything including marriage certificate but all they wanted was my passport and EAD card. I had already printed and filled out the application at home so I just stood in front the booth for about 5 mins.

Receipt says expect it in about 2 weeks but she said give it 5-10 days to get there in the mail.

awsesome. U will get it b4 that. When I get my ssn it only took 4 days

I live with my mother in law too. And we pay rent 800$. The difference is that she do the cook, loundary and sometimes watch over our twins when me and my husband is out. B4 she told me that she wasn't happy with our relationship with her son but after I come I talked to her by open heart I guess she understand. now we are so close and in great r/ship.but sometimes u will still hear bullshit coz its their house and can say w.e they want. So the advice I can give u is talk to her and pray bout it girl. Coz anything possible with god. I know living in one income sucks and really hope things will get better for u.and trust I can't wait to start working sucks sitting in the house especially with bullshits. Are u pregnant now? Sadly I loss the baby and regarding the mother in law I tried many times to have a heart to heart talk but she don't care , she even called this morning while I was on bed rest which my doctor said I need to be she started to yell n srgue to clean the dishes and feed her mother cause she won't be home till late at night n to clean the house, I told her I ain't well n she called me names that I called my husband n he said he booked the info pass for us and he said he will be coming home early from work to help me

My husband is on the verge on getting a huge loan to pay for our own place till I work , he hates how I am bein treated an he begs me not to go back to Canada

MASH...I've come here so many times to approach you but I always held back. And each time I'd get a notif for Feb filers and saw your name I'd hope ud be bringing some good news. I often felt bad sharing my good news knowing we filed same date and you haven't received your EAD/AP yet. Coming to find out about your situation just makes it more difficult. I hope your housing situation blossoms into what you're hoping it should be and that your card gets approved soon.

I'm sorry about the baby...all hope is not lost as long as u breathe. Take heart. Find strength and Pray. ((Big hug))

I doubt very much your Mother In Law cares much that she is stressing out your relationship with your partner (maybe even doing so to see if you will break up)

You both need to look at your situation very carefully. I know you are not taking it lightly but your health is a number one priority no matter what. There could be untold damage done if you don't follow your Drs advice.

It is probably advisable to remove yourselves from the environment you are in, at least in the short term there are no signs of it improving.

If she is saying and doing what you say knowing your current situation I find it unfathomable she can continue in her ways, especially as another woman!

She is obviously the leader in the house otherwise your father in law would have stepped in by now.

A lesson when embarking on this journey and for anyone else starting or still at the K1 stage.... The paperwork, process, procedures etc is only part of the whole thing. Moving across to the US, not being able to work or possibly be mobile needs to be factored in.

Many people move in with family initially to save money an also to get to know family better as coming from another country you are less likely to have met often. I hope you can find some local support group. For company but also to see what can be done in finding living accommodation as well as help with the loss of your baby as that is a lot to deal with alone.

I have an update on my situation

My husband spoke to his caring aunt and said we can stay with her till we find a place rent free which honestly put me in tears for joy, so the sec I move I am moving all my contact for USCIS there so she won't take my mail

His aunt is such a warm hearted person that treats me like a daughter she never had as I met her many times even though I saw the mother in law more,

That's terrific news.

It makes me so happy his aunt came back from her vacation and my husband called her an let her know the situation

I bet $5 the mother in law is gonna give us hell for moving out but sadly it has to be done, I honestly gave it close to 6 months and she has yet to treat me like a daughter in law, she feels I came here to use her son, the first time I laughed cause for one I am Canadian which means I can go inside America without getting a travel visa and be here for 6 months no prob and left a $25 an HR paying job and my family

I honestly have no purpose of coming but to be with the love of my life that I have known for almost 8 years
