okay i am home now...

short review:

our appointment was scheduled for 12:15 pm - as some people told us we should arrive early (as security check might take a while) we took an uber and have been out there at 10:45.

as we arrived at the room the lady asked when our appointment was and we told her - she said "oh you guys are early, let me check his schedule so I can see if I should send you to lunch first"

she came back and said all good, you will be next.

took around 30 minutes as he called my name. The guy was mid 40s no uniform or so.

he first swore us in and then got over our papers.

our case was a little complicated as we had an approved i-129f from 2013 (long story short we broke up and got back together last year).

he asked for the reasons and why we got back together. I had a feel he kinda liked our story and i got less nervous. he then asked if all details are correct, if we live at the same place..

then asked if we have any more proof that we want to submit - i took out our folder and he was amazed how prepared we were.

i had some invoices from our cats vet with me (in both names) and he asked some questions about her.

in the end he took out a paper which confirmed the approval and said you guys are good :)

all in all i kinda liked it :)

YAY my combo card just arrived in the mail! It's quite thick, just like my old Canadian Driver's License; no worries about it getting damaged. It came with a little sheet on parole that makes me very nervous @_@ I REALLY don't want to be denied to come back, after all this hard work and waiting! We were going to drive up to my parents' tomorrow to surprise my mom for early Mother's Day but now I'm not so sure... has anyone else used their AP yet?

Don't be nervous. From what I understand, no one on these forums has been denied entry with AP. I booked a flight as soon as mine came in haha. (Have yet to use it though as flight is still two weeks away). Just be prepared. If you've changed your name, carry a copy of your marriage cert and you should be fine. :)

Congrats on all the recent approvals and succesful interview too!

For those interested in applying for a SSN for the first time after receiving their EAD:

I got there by 10 am and I was done by 10:15. The lady asked for the ss-5 form (which I had previously filled in and printed at home), she asked for my EAD/AP card, ( I asked if I could use the approval letter and she said NO), then she asked me for my passport and my marriage certificate since I submitted all my paperwork under my married last name. she then made a copy of my documents, gave me my original ones back, and then asked me to review if the information was correct. Then she told me that it will take 4 to 8 weeks to get my SSN in the mail.

I hope it comes earlier that that UGH :clock:

Unfortunately they do not give you a temporary number, I asked the lady about it because I want to apply for a few jobs in the meantime and she said that I had to wait for my SSN to come in the mail ugh

So just ran out to the mailbox in hopes my green card would be in there and sure enough, there it was! Not sure what they use the passport pictures for that we sent in with the application because my GC photo is also the one that was taken at biometrics.

It's so intense. They give you an envelope to hold your card in to prevent "electronic interference."

Congrats to all receiving good news and god's speed to those still waiting.
