Was this an RFIE or RFE that you received and what day did they receive your response.

I received and RFIE (request for initial evidence) and they received my response on March 31st and I still have not heard a thing on the I-485 ead OR AP yet ;(

RFIE. They received our response exactly 2 weeks later. I-485 case status changed another 2 weeks later, and AP/EAD were approved over a month later. Hang in there!

For those who received their Ead/ap cards...Out of curiosity, is there a picture on there (duh) but if yes ...was it the one taken at your biometrics or the one you sent in with your applications?

The one taken at biometrics and I too have a cheesy smile in mine. Guess they are not nearly as strict as the passport/driver's license people haha.

K1, EAD/AP + AOS + ROC = 0 RFE's

Yes there is the picture on it taken at the bio...

Its black and white...

Congrats to all the approvals!! Amazing... I am so nervous as i have my interview friday at noon... I will keep u updated :)

Ahhh keep us updated! Don't be nervous--I think they can tell if you're a real couple or not by the way you act, so I'm sure you'll be fine!

I checked online but only the EAD has been updated...

:/ hm. Ok, keep us updated! Usually they approve both together.

I don't want to brag about it but I just got an update for my I-485 case saying that my new card is being produced. To be honest I was looking forward to an interview haha because I made this nice scrapbook album with pictures that we took since I came to the States

I really hope I get the 10 year card instead of the conditional one so I don't have to deal with USCIS for a looong time. Sending good vibes to everyone whose case hasn't been approved yet, especially MASH (F)

Wow, congrats minina!

Congratulations.

Thanks Katie123!

YES! Finally! Huge, huge congrats. Mine took about 5-6 days from approval to mailbox (can't quite remember but I added it to my TL). I don't see any reason why you shouldn't get it before going to the DMV. You will likely receive it Monday/Tuesday of next week!

Awesome goolia, thank you! I'm looking forward to receiving it!

Just gave USCIS a call and asked to speak to a tier 2 person about my I485 application process. He told me that my case is still at Missouri and currently the Center is dealing with Case from October 2015. I'm also on F1 so I deficiently will have an interview. Seems like I'll have a long wait.

Just for the heck of it I called USCIS just cause I had this weird feeling that somehow calling will somehow make the EAD come sooner lol

When I spoke to the customer service lady who was very nice and we had a nice chat and she said I only waited for 58 days so far and that I should call on the 75th day (May 15) and they will look into it,

Idk it made me feel kinda happy to talk to her, I guess cause she told me I only waited 58 days for the EAD and it could have been worse but also she talked to me how she was going through this process years ago and we started laughing it all as we talked some more

Who knows what she told me is true but I felt abit better and will be calling back on May 16 since May 15 is a Sunday if I don't hear about my EAD/AP ;)

Nope. Nada. I'm in a more specific situation than the rest of you guys I think. This EAD approving process is taking longer than I expected this time around. I already have a EAD card from my OPT via F1 visa and it only took 75ish days.

EDIT: Actually now that you got me wondering, does a RFIE/RFE notice show up in your online myUSCIS account? Under "Case History". I'm seriously hoping I didn't miss a RFIE mail.

So I went to the SSN office today (with my GC) to have my last name changed on my SSN card from maiden to married and they said their systems are not cooperating with USCIS systems. They gave me a letter of confirmation and said it might take up like 4 weeks. When I called USCIS to ask what's going on they referred me to the local office to make an infopass apt (but it was closed today anyway).

Anyone had similar experience with changing name on SSN recently / know what is going on?

Also, just curious do you guys plan on carrying your GC on you or have it in safe? Seems like law states to have it on you at all times (as per the GC letter), but I have to say my instincts say it would be better to lock it up somewhere safe. I asked the USCIS lady over phone about this as well as I was thinking maybe carrying EAD instead (though this would only work for the first year), but she said she is unable to answer my question ... that being said I might just start carrying it everywhere but will have it if I lose it someone steals it and it will be another $400 for replacement ... what do you guys plan to do? Carry on you or no?

10/29/2020 - Oath Ceremony & became a U.S. Citizen

04/05/2020 - Filed N-400 to get Citizenship

03/07/2019 - 10 Year Green Card received

01/31/2018 - Filed I-751 ROC (CSC)

04/22/2016 - 2 Year Green Card received

02/08/2016 - Filed AOS

12/15/2015 - Got married

10/26/2015 - K1 received

05/08/2015 - Filed I-129F

03/27/2015 - Got engaged

03/27/2010 - First met and started dating

Tbh I think I will leave it at home unless travelling. I feel like the combo card should be good enough for most identification purposes however, if I hadn't received the combo card I would definitely carry the GC with me at all times.

K1, EAD/AP + AOS + ROC = 0 RFE's

I have changed my last name with my marriage certificate and that's it. So it would be weird that even with a greencard they cannot change your name. They litterally just go in the system and change the name... it's really easy >< But I guess I just got lucky I only needed my marriage certificate. Hope you can get it all sorted out!

Met around 2011/2012 in a game (league of legends) super random, best friends ever since... grew closer as friends and desided in 2013 to try dating, flew over and we had a click =)

Proposed in Oktober 2014

12/2014 - File K1

12/2015 - Receive K1 (texas backlog drama, took a year!)

12/26/15 - P.O.E. Boston

01/20/16 - Marriage =)

(Day 000) 03/10/16 - Filed AOS (with EAD and AP)

(Day 001) 03/14/16 - Received EAD+AP

(Day 004) 03/18/16 - Received AOS

(Day 005) 03/19/16 - NOA1 SMS & Email x3

(Day 009) 03/23/16 - NOA1 Hardcopy x3

(Day 016) 03/30/16 - Biometrics letter received

(Day 030) 04/13/16 - Biometrics done (very quiet in Providence (RI) just one other family and me)

(Day 051) 05/04/16 - Approval EAD & AP

(Day 055) 05/08/16 - NOA2 EAD & AP in the mail and online changed to approved

(Day 063) 05/16/16 - Approval AOS

I am definitely hope I don't have to call them cuz it's a pain to have to call I am just happy that the last person I spoke to was nice, ya she told me about the 75 day rule so urs would be on the 16th of May as the 75th day , worse comes to worse if we don't get our EAD/AP by then I'll let you know what they told me
