USCIS makes money from petition filing, and IV interview fees (a high percentage of it)...AOS revenue is something, but they get the same from K1-->IR1, and since the K1 is designed for an AOS, keep it that way.

If AOS/COS is continually allowed (or overlooked), COs will continue to be very hard nosed about handing B2s over to people who are going to visit their 'friend.'

just about all of these cases pretty much prove that the B2 denials were accurate....as all of the SOs wound up married shortly after being denied...which shows that whatever ties those folks claimed

They make money but not as much. It's $1490 to adjust from a tourist visa. They're not going to cut that out anytime soon. People would loae their jobs.

I agree however they shouldnt allow adjustment from B1/B2 unless there are extenuating circumstances. It would bring more tourism to the USA. People would finally be able to get to know each other a little more before marriage. But I don't see it happening because the USCIS is self funded (as it should be.)

My husband works for the FAA. There is a fee on every US plane ticket for the FAA who only sees a small portion of that fee. The rest is routed for other government needs. The USCIS never can get something like that but I bet any extra is routed towards anything else DHS needs.

I read a thread from other website that CBP write No extention, No AOS on passport of a parent of USC visiting on B2.

I guess that will be an easy solution for everyone.

Meaningless.

While in practice it may be meaningless I think the point is that it SHOULDN'T be meaningless.

What's the point of entrusting the integrity of the border to people when they're ignored?

Maybe CBP should just refuse entry to more people instead of making annotations that they know will be ignored.

That'll be a popular move. Again, the opportunities to visit the US for many people will be ruined by those who play the system.

August 2000: We start e-mailing. I'm in Bosnia, she's in Florida

October 29th 2000: She sends me e-mail asking if I would marry her

October 29th 2000(5 seconds later): I say yes

November 2000: She sends me tickets to Orlando for when I get back

December 6th 2000: Return from Bos

December 11th 2000: Fly to Orlando, she meets me at airport

December 22nd 2000: I fly back to UK

January 3rd 2001: She flies to UK (Good times)

Mid February 2001: Pregnancy test Positive

Mid February 2001: She flies back to US

March 2001: Miscarriage, I fly to US on first flight I can get

May 2001: I leave US before my 90 days are up

June 2001: I fly back to US, stopped at airport for questioning as I had only just left

September 2001: Pregnancy test Positive again

September 2001: She falls sick, I make decision to stay to look after her as I am afraid I may have problems getting back in.

April 16th 2002: Our son is born, we start getting stuff together for his passport

March 6th 2003: We leave US for UK as family

Early April 2003: Family troubles make her return to US, I ask Embassy in London about possibilities of returning to US

April 16th 2003: London Embassy informs me that I will be banned from the Visa Waiver Program for 10 years, my little boys first birthday

June 13th 2006: I-129f sent

August 11th 2006: NOA1 Recieved

After our relationship breaks down she admits to me that she had never bothered to start the application process
