Separate packets for I-485, I-765, and I-131

Hi there,

I read somewhere recently that in my AoS packet, I should give the I-765 and I-131 their own packets inside the package I send off. Is that correct? I believe the reason is that they get sent off to different places.

Many thanks!

I put my stuff in seperate folders, unsure if needed, more for organization. Not sure what 'packages' you're talking about but I just shipped them all together in one big priority mail shipping envelope. Im sure they have some process internally or they would require you to ship them separately I dont think its a big deal.

Sure, one big package, but separate folders for the different applications?

Thanks for the reply!

They are separate applications that ride together in one envelope to the lockbox. I used big paperclips to keep each application with evidence separate from the next. Add on top of the pile of three... a check for $1070 made out to the US Department of Homeland Security paper-clipped to your cover page. Behind the cover page put a Form G-1145 if you want to be notified that they got your applications.

It's not really a requirement but its good to do because it makes it easier for you to track if you've included all required documentation for each application. Once USCIS Chicago gets them, they will divide/arrange them whichever way they want to anyway. Like Nich-Nick, I just separated mine with paperclips.

I'll be doing the same--separating via paperclips! I'm also separating my I-864 stuff for the petitioner and joint sponsor, as there's a ton of additional evidence that needs to be attached and I feel it's neater if it's separated with paper clips.
