Mothers and mothers-to-be - How long did it take you to get pregnant?

I read a thing that said that if women have unprotected sex for a year, 60-80% of them will become pregnant during that time... but it didn't say how many times a month/week they were doing it!

Did you catch on the first try? Or was it a long and difficult process? Or were you doing so much 'laundry' for so long that you don't have a clue when you actually got pregnant because it could have happened any time?

the summer before my last semester of nursing school, my ex and i decided to try to start our family... we tried for 7 months... i kept up with when my periods and ovulations were... during the week of ovulation, we would try every other day (so that his sperm count could rebuild - wanted healthy sperm;) ) i would stay in bed with hips elevated afterwards...

stress really will play a part in keeping it from happening... literally, when we succeeded, it was the first ovulation after i finished nursing school, lol

so, relax and have fun, but do keep up with your cycle... it will help you know when you are most fertile and also know quickly when you are pregnant...

oh, and be taking those prenatal vitamins even while you are trying... get your body ready!!!!!!

I know it's well intentioned but I am SO SICK of the "just relax and it will happen" replies. I hear it from effing EVERYBODY - friends, family, people off the street. I just want to say "F YOU! I'll stress about it if I want to because you know what? I don't have a choice!"

We're on cycle 3 of trying. And of course, everyone in both my and my hubby's families got pregnant right off the bat - first time trying.

Frig, I feel like crying now.

I was thinking of getting fixed when my fiance comes. I am 42 and just got through raising my 2 kids and had a hell of time raising one of them. He said if we have a child he wants to raise it muslim. I think it might just cause stress so i think we won't have any. He mentioned something about adopting his brothers kid i really don't know where he is going with that.
