hello to all ...
I am category Cr1 my case was completed in January 29
my husband out of curiosity came to the site of the ECAC and now says this:
Your case is in transit to the Consular Section . Date of the interview was provided to by the National Visa Center .
we are very concerned that the NVC has not assigned us an interview date and my husband called to nvc and they say, they sent my documents to the consulate of Santo Domingo,is the consulate they have to send a letter of interview for us ..

That's just the standard "in transit" message that appears for everyone. I had that message too even though our case was expedited and the consulate had to schedule our interview. Which they did as soon as they received our file.

It´s generic message, we all need to have. It just mark the case as done in NVC and on it´s way to embassy. And that´s no matter how your case has gotten to that part.

It's the totality of all the evidence and research given. Most of our Facebook profiles aren't even looked at. I have personally known of a few who were denied not because just Facbook but the whole picture. See many people don't tell the whole truth.

They say things like

  • Not being friends on Facebook got us denied
  • We were died because of or age difference, or religion, or race
It's never that plain people just pick one thing and turn it into a negative. I can assure you those that Facebook was a factor had probably other issues with their account .

  • Friends to too many of the opposite sex
  • talking, chatting inappropriately with the opposite sex
  • Having OTHER Facebook accounts unknown to the spouse/fiance' (Yes Immigration can find them)
Don;t worry about it if asked I am sure your husband can explain why you aren't friends on Facebook. It's not that deep when there are no Red Flags no issues. :goofy:

If they have to check Facebook, what if the person have a made up name??

Help with I-864, does the Embassy want wet signature from the date I send my documents in to NVC or can I date it now?

I'm preparing a new I-864 dated today to send to my husband, would that be a problem?

Urgh, I'm so worried I might make a mistake.???

Yes, that is exactly what I am saying, and if you are updating the I-864, definitively it has to be today's date.

That is all up to the Embassy.

That information are either in the letter you got or on the Embassy website.

Bring a fresh on to the Embassy is always a good idea.

And the old one is not valid now, so you can´t bring that.

How would they know if you chat with someone!! Do they hack your messanger!!

I have only heard about 1 person, that had to give the person there FB login.

But i don´t think they can do that or are allowed to do that.

If they have to check Facebook, what if the person have a made up name??

Well hopefully there's a reasonable explanation. I know many friends who have Pseudo names on Facebook because of work. They aren't allowed to have their real names there.

Let me let you know this many interviews are torpedo by the person being interviewed not being able to convey a thought an idea or just answer basic questions. It can be nerves, or it can be they just don't know nothing about the petitioner. The CO is trained on picking up movements and mannerisms. That's why they may ask the most inappropriate question to rattle you, shake you see how you stand up to such questioning.

I know personally 3 people 2 at Lagos 1 at South Africa embassy just in the last month asked at the interview for login information.

It happens and of course they are allowed. It's your choice to comply cuz there's no rule or regulation says you have to. But it won;t go well if you deny them the access. You basically saying you have something to hide. I mean our whole lives is out there in this process.

Our phones tapped(yep they are), emails read, Facebook looked at. So whats access on Facebook. :diablo:
