I have heard other stories like that but to be honest, I'm not sure how true this can be. There are other ways to look up evidence of bonafide marriages that are more solid than just Facebook. I agree with you, if this was true then this world is really messed up. Personally, I brought a wedding photo book, an album with pics from our various vacations, and all of my flight, train, and bus tickets I saved from each and every trip during the past 22 months and guess what? they didn't ask for any of it, I'm really convinced by now that they just know, they study your case and look up the things they need to prior to interview and when you arrive it all comes to your answers (which they already have) and the paperwork they ask you to bring ;)

Including all our documents, We will have 2 albums, our professional printed wedding album and 180, 4x6 pictures in a photo album that can come out if need be. Plus chat logs for over 2 years and our travel documentation from all our trips for over 2 years, car insurance with both of us on policy, money transfers between us over the years, a stack of of 10-15 cards in envelopes from family and friends addressed to both of us over the years etc. Thank you Chiquita, this makes me feel a bit better! :)

Yours is like mine, I am just curious about what USCIS is issuing now, seems there has been a change in the amount of digits and that is the confusing part when registering for ELIS.

Hey question for you:

How many digits follow the letter A in the visa number? BTW: This number becomes the Green Card number.

I am asking because I have noticed some confusion among some members when the try to register online to pay the Green Card immigrant fee of $ 165.00. (That's right, Uncle Sam is not done with us yet, more money for him), and $ 500 more to lift up conditions in about a year an half plus more paper work.

I do not know now, but back in the early 80s, that number was also the ALIEN NUMBER under INS.

The Alien number should be 9 digits long. If there is an Alien Number with only 8 digits, then you are supposed to put a "zero" in the first slot...

Example 1: A123-456-789 - Alien number is 123456789

Example 2: A 67-891-234 Alien number should be typed: 067891234

I think you just nailed it, this is what I kind of vaguely remember reading somewhere but was not sure what it was. (leading zero no body tells you to add if you have to)

BTW this the help for paying the fee:

So question for everyone - Someone on one of the Visa Facebook groups said they saw someone get denied at interview because the interviewer looked up her facebook page and saw no pictures of her and her husband. We truly are one of those couples that like to live in real life and not social media. We don't feel FB defines your relationship, it's the real life moments. Crazy I know haha. I am not even friends with my husband on FB, can that really cause an issue? I can't believe it would, if so the world is much more messed up then I thought lol, to base a relationship over FB.

It's the totality of all the evidence and research given. Most of our Facebook profiles aren't even looked at. I have personally known of a few who were denied not because just Facbook but the whole picture. See many people don't tell the whole truth.

They say things like

  1. Not being friends on Facebook got us denied
  2. We were died because of or age difference, or religion, or race

It's never that plain people just pick one thing and turn it into a negative. I can assure you those that Facebook was a factor had probably other issues with their account .

  1. Friends to too many of the opposite sex
  2. talking, chatting inappropriately with the opposite sex
  3. Having OTHER Facebook accounts unknown to the spouse/fiance' (Yes Immigration can find them)

Don;t worry about it if asked I am sure your husband can explain why you aren't friends on Facebook. It's not that deep when there are no Red Flags no issues. :goofy:

As its a bit easier than trawling through the timelines just thought I'd ask here if anyone knows the current London interview scheduling dates? I just got the email saying my case is complete from NVC today (even though it was CC last week) and I'm anxious to receive my interview date!

That's what I figured Dwheels! In my heart I truly don't think we would have to worry, true love trumps facebook anyday and we have tons of stuff to "prove" that it if need be. I just hate hearing people put negative thoughts in my head and then I panic lol. I almost want to not look at some of these groups posts until after next month.

Is this our case complete email?

17FEB16
Dear Sir/Madam,
The National Visa Center (NVC) received all the requested documentation for this immigrant visa
case. The applicant is now in the queue awaiting an interview appointment overseas, where a
consular officer will adjudicate the applicant’s visa application.
NVC schedules appointments one month in advance. The U.S. Embassy or Consulate General
tells us what dates they are holding interviews, and NVC fills these appointments in a firstin, first-
out manner. Most appointments are set within 60 days of NVC receipt of all requested
documentation. However, we cannot predict when an interview appointment will be available.
When we are able to schedule an appointment, we will notify the applicant, petitioner and attorney
(if applicable). The applicant can prepare now by reading about the embassy’s interview
requirements online at http://nvc.state.gov/interview. Thank you for your patience.
The embassy may require additional documents at the interview. In particular, if the following
three items are all true, the applicant must bring a new police certificate to the visa interview:
than one year ago; and
The applicant should not make any travel arrangements, sell property, or give up employment until
the embassy has issued a visa.
Sincerely,
Director
National Visa Center
