O.k so I am getting some of our paperwork in order for husbands interview and my lawyer told us that I would have to show proof of Domicile. I have a color photocopy of my drivers license, passport, voter registration card and my car insurance card (that also shows my husband on the policy). All those items have my current address on them. Of course I will also have my tax transcripts, completed taxes for 2015 and letter of employment that also confirms I work in FL. Do you guys think this is good, or should I include more stuff?

Congratulations, you guys went through a lot and were very patient..always kept your cool, I admire that.

Thank you. I have to admit, it was very hard to stay calm and positive towards the end of it. :)

Thank you!

Wow, that's fast! Is that normal?

Depending on how busy the embassy is, they sometimes issue the visa on the same day as the interview and sometimes they take longer. Sometimes the status on CEAC doesn't change at all and all of the sudden you get a message to say that you're visa is ready to pick up, so don't get worried if your status don't change on CEAC.

Cosmos,

I thought proof of domicile was only for those where both are living outside of the US?

Right, that is what I thought! My stupid lawyer now has it in my head I need to bring stuff to prove where I live! I am not sure why I listen to him, the guy is a moron. I think I am just going to put those 3 items I listed earlier in my husbands folder, if anything it can't hurt to have and I rather us be safe.

Hopefully Montreal won't even ask for half the extra stuff he will have lol.

Yeah, I highly doubt they ask for that since you are technically the sponsor, but it never hurts to have it.

Wow!! Picked up my Visa this morning... It's been a long journey and to tell the truth, I couldn't have done it so smoothly right from USCIS, NVC and the local Embassy.

Had my interview on 28th January which went quite well but was placed on AP for 2 weeks then I got my Visa issued and now collected.

Thanks to Dwheels and some other people in this forum that helped my wife and I through the entire process.

Viva VisaJourney

Cheers... :)
