I have a dumb question. Why cant we just go to ustraveldocs.com and schedule our own appointment after CC from NVC? Has anyone or know of anyone that has done this before and if so what happened?

Relax go over your embassies interview reviews. Look over the interview basic questions. Relax. Have a good breakfast morning of. Relax. It's a done deal. Peeps here get approved.

I have yet to see a denial. Maybe delays or extra documents submitted but no denials. So THERE!!

You can schedule all you want nothing will happen. Imagine you are scheduling for an interview that NVC doesn't know about and they have your case file. No case file at interview no interview most times and definitely not a Visa.

Our category of Visa going through NVC we don;t have access to the calendar. The embassy does have the capability to open it up to our category because I know of expedites and DCF that get to schedule their own.

It's a question I have asked and written to Department of State about for 4 years trust me on that.

I think most of us will agree with your statement but unfortunately, the US State Department has chosen not to let CR/IR-1 schedule their own interview. It's the same with NVC, I think most of us agree that skipping NVC and letting the embassies ensure all papers are correct will make this process much more efficient and definitely shorter, but I doubt that's gonna happen either.
